When Wen Xin's shift ended, Ye Qiu and she changed out of her nurse uniform and put on her regular clothes, leaving the Affiliated Hospital and getting into the car. Ye Qiu planned to take her out for dinner.
"What do you want to eat?"
"Anything is fine."
Wen Xin didn't have high demands for food, usually eating work meals at the hospital canteen.
"Now that it's getting cold, let's have hot pot!"
Ye Qiu drove to a nearby hot pot restaurant, and upon arriving at the entrance, Ye Qiu and Wen Xin went inside. A waitress led them to a table and asked, "Hello, is it for two?"
"Yes."
Wen Xin replied.
The waitress handed the menu to Wen Xin, who passed it to Ye Qiu. Ye Qiu ordered a clear soup first and then let Wen Xin choose some vegetables and other items.
After the waitress left, Ye Qiu's phone rang. It was a call from Chen Fang.
"Mom, I'm eating out with a friend."
Ye Qiu thought his mother was calling to ask him to come home for dinner.
