"I can't decide whether to call you bold or just plain foolish," Bai Herong sneered coldly as he glared at Hao Jian. His eyes briefly flicked to the lackeys lying among shattered tables and chairs, groaning in pain, before he let out a disdainful snort and barked, "What are you whining about?! It's just a beating, and you're all acting like women! Get up this instant!"
"Y-yes, yes!"
The men, startled by Bai Herong's roar, promptly shut their mouths, forcing themselves to endure the excruciating pain as they struggled to rise. They staggered to the sofa, sitting in silence, not daring to utter another word.
Even so, the cold sweat dripping from their foreheads betrayed the agony they felt. Their trembling legs couldn't support them, their fury-filled eyes glaring at Hao Jian. Yet, when they turned their gaze to Bai Herong, sparks of hope lit up their faces.
