Chapter 5 - 5.)Finding some answers and arrival at Konoha

Jiraiya

I'd been debating whether or not do do this since the first I saw of Yuto, Yuto Gojo.

I turn to my right and see the young teen alseep against a log not far outside the town Tnazaku. The more I think about it the more certain I become. I need to speak to someone more knowledgeable about what could possibly be up with my student. Two real sages.

I begin to go through the familiar hand signs after drawing blood. In under 3 seconds I call out. "Summoning Jutsu" and see the kanji glow before 2 puffs of smoke are released.

After a gust of wind that I know wasn't natural I see the ones I'd called for. Ma and Pa. They both looked alertly at me, "Jiraiya boy, where is the danger that would've caused you to summon us?" Asks Pa.

"He's right Jiraiya. Summoning us is no small feat. What would warrant such actions?" Ma asks me. I don't get a word out of my mouth when pa looks quickly over to Yuto.

"Hmm, such power inside such a young tadpole…" he whispered almost too quietly for me to hear. But I did hear it.

"What do you mean?" I ask understanding that they've realized why it is I've brought them here.

Neither toad answered me for almost a minute. Both looking deep in contemplation. When they finally did speak though, what they said shocked me. "This boy bears a remarkably similar chakra signature to the sage. I don't even know how that's possible, but I'm looking at the truth right in front of me." Pa said.

"The sage? Old grandpa? He can barely stay awake, much less have a kid." I said thinking they were joking with me for being so concerned about a child.

However, what ma said stops all jokes in my mind. "He means THE sage Jiraiya. The sage of Six paths." She said without any comedy lacing her tone.

That brings all my gears to a screeching halt. The sage of six paths was a legendary man. Said to be the first shinobi, more akin to a god than a man. I'd always believed him a fantasy, that was until I met nagato. Those purple ringed eyes still haunt me.

That gives me an out. How can this kid be similar to the sage in chakra signature but not have his legendary eyes? While the ones he possess are impressive, they don't hold a candle to the rinnegan.

I voice my thoughts to the pair of toads in front of me. "I didn't say he was a reincarnation of the sage or directly related to him by blood. No, you don't understand what I'm saying. It'd be like having 2 clan members stand side by side. You can tell they aren't directly related through mother and father. But they share similarities all the same." Pa said to me.

I sat down now. Needing a minute to process what the hell is going on. Ma hopped over to me and sat on my knee. "We'll stay here with you tonight. I find myself wanting to meet the boy, not just observe his sleeping position."

Pa went to go inform the great toad sage of the events before he would reverse summon himself back here to us. I lay on the log and watched the stars twinkle trying to wrap my mind around the answers I'd just gotten.

Yuto

I realize I'm around 3 very strong chakra signatures as soon as my eyes open beneath my bandages. One of them is familiar to me now. Jiraiya. The blend of fire and earth dancing around eachother like two tornadoes.

But the other two are both new to me and not. I see two toads. One green and clearly a male with a goatee. The other is a women with purple hair? Whatever.

I knew these two toads though. Not because I'd ever met them, but I watched them teach naruto how to get in tune with nature energy.

I'd decided to observe for a while before the male toad, fukasaku, spoke. "It seems the little tadpole is awake."

I don't speak, Too surprised he noticed. So I gave a small nod. The women toad, shima if memory serves, hopped over to me and sat on my chest before I got up to my butt. She didn't speak, just looked at me for a moment before starting towards my bandaged eyes.

I wanted to move away. Truly. But knowing how strong someone is because I can see it makes it a little more complicated than that. I knew she could destroy me without any trouble.

Taking all this into account, I remained still while the small toad began unwrapping my bandages. I prepared for the intense strain I was about to endure just as the first shine of light began to hit my eyes.

I instantly focused on shima to lessen the strain. My eyes begin to react to my heightened state and turn on completely, casting what I imagine to be an eerie glow in the morning sunlight.

The road finally speaks, "Hmm, I can't say I've seen them before." She said to which Fukasaku nodded in agreement.

I was about to speak for the first time when she looked at Jiraiya seriously, "I may not know what they are, but don't let anyone know about this outside of Hiruzen. Promise me Jiraiya." She told him with the tone of a mother.

One of the strongest ninjas in the world nodded quickly like a scolded child. "I promise Ma." He said.

I felt better about this now. At least I could always go to the toads if I need.

4 days later

It took 4 days to get to Konoha because Jiraiya wanted to take his time and teach me all that I could learn in the short amount of time. Which admittedly wasn't much at all. I might be okay in a fight but that's not good enough considering I'm about to be thrust into a warzone.

We'd already come up with a story. That I'm a sensor who's blind. Jiraiya reinforced my seal with nature chakra to make it stronger. That way, not even a byakugan can see through it.

I felt good about that part At least. Sensor type ninja may be able to notice it, but nobody will say a thing with Jiraiya beside me.

As we get closer to the village hidden in the leaves Jiraiya speaks to me, "when we arrive there I want you to stay close to me. The village is in a heightened state of awareness right now with all the foreign dignitaries and other shinobi villages here competing. The last thing we need is you going somewhere you shouldn't." I nod along. Agreeing with everything he said. Hell, even if he was peeping at the hot springs I wouldn't be far from him.

In about half an hour I see it. Konoha. It was beautiful. Many would be fooled by the outward appearance. But I know how deep the roots run in this place right now. I have no interest being anywhere near them.

We see the gate where a multitude of people are trying to get in, this further proves Jiraiyas point about not being too suspicious right now. Putting chakra into my eyes I see the real village open up before me. I see shadows dance across the rooftops, shinobi going to or from missions, I see the silent shadows standing guard over the village, the Anbu. And finally I see a few roots. Twisted and tangled within the soil of this beautiful tree.

I make up my mind then. It won't be just sasuke fighting Danzo. I will join him. Even if he doesn't want me too. By the time I'm ready to fight on that level, I'll be confident enough to face anyone.

I made a wish not to feel weak anymore. I'm on the road.

Jiraiya

We sneak into the village like I always do. I don't go through the gate. My business is in the hokage tower. Not announcing to the world the exact time of my return.

I also don't bother with the door. Yuto and I scale the hokage tower. I look back at him and see his control over it is perfect. He's truly a natural at chakra control. I shake those thoughts from my head and begin the sprint up the tower with my charge following my every footstep.

Looking inside I see nobody is there save for the old man smoking his pipe. I motion to Yuto to stay for a moment while I hop through the window. "Hey sensei. Still up to your old tricks I see." I say chuckling at the crystal ball on the table showing naruto thinking kakashi abandoned him, not knowing I told him to leave it to me.

"Jiraiya, who've you brought with you?" He doesn't answer my question and joke but with the seriousness of a hokage.

I quickly do a hand signal I know Yuto and the hokage understand, 'come.'

In a second Yuto uses his new shunshin jutsu to appear in a flash. I then put up a barrier strong enough that not even the anbu guarding my sensei can hear what's about to be said.

I began from the beginning 5 days ago, when I found a half naked boy being harassed by some sand shinobi all the way until we reached here. The only thing I left out was the fact that my summons told me he's somehow got a similar chakra signature to the sage of six paths.

I see the hokage gain a sad look at implications of what I was telling him. I never specifically said orochimaru's name in front of Yuto, but he knew exactly what I didn't say.

I see him take another drag of his pipe and speak to Yuto at my right side. "It's very nice to meet you Yuto. I am happy to offer you asylum in my village. After the chunnin exams, I'll see about getting you a permanent place here. For now, just stay close to Jiraiya."

Yuto

Looking at the third hokage I can tell why he's said to be the strongest kage of his time. While an old man and certainly not in his prime, the chakra swirling within him is immense. I decide to keep it short and sweet, bowing slightly I speak.

"Thank you lord hokage."

After a few minutes of small talk between teacher and student, Jiraiya and I leave out the window. I'd spent my time while they were talking pinpointing the location of each of the hidden anbu stationed around the room. After finding them, I began to try to search for their chakra natures.

Most of them were either fire or earth. One water popped up as well.

I'm broken from my thoughts by Jiraiya. "Come on Yuto, let's go."

With that we shunshin out of the office back onto the rooftops. As we run across I ask a question . "Where are we going?"

He laughs. "I'm going to do some research. And you are going to learn to walk on water."

Scene change

My soaking wet clothes stick to me like a reminder of my failures. I've been at this an hour and am only just now getting it.

I can even hear Jiraiyas Pervy laugh a few meters away. I'm about to step back onto the water when I see a famous scene. Ebizu, a Konoha jonnin and teacher of konohamaru, tries to stop Jiraiya from peeping. Only to be crushed and knocked out by a toad summon.

Then I hear the voice. That famous voice. Naruto uzumaki. "Hey you pervy sage! That was my teacher! What am I gonna do now?!"

I smile and step back onto the water. Knowing what's going to happen I decide to stick to my own training. Jiraiya is Naruto's teacher. I need to find my own path.
