Neo didn't look his way.
He kept working.
And then something happened that made 'I' stiffen.
Neo didn't rewrite the strands.
He didn't cut them.
He didn't destroy them.
He stored them.
One by one, Neo pulled temporal strands out of the universe and placed them inside his Cosmos.
"Huh?" 'I' muttered, stunned. "If he does that, the main timeline of this universe will collapse and—"
His words cut off.
Beelzebub flapped his wings once.
Just once.
That single flap created countless pseudo temporal strands.
They weren't real.
If temporal strands were walls, these pseudo temporal strands were like holograms of walls.
They were transparent, and fake.
Despite being fake, these pseudo strands performed one simple function perfectly:
Stability.
They fooled the River of Time into believing nothing was missing.
Even though Neo was pulling real strands out and storing them in his Cosmos, the universe didn't realize it.
