Chapter 33 - Chapter 33

After resting for a day, Peter was finally ready to start another intense research session.

This time, he had a few objectives in mind: dismantling the alien tech, learning how they controlled energy and gravity, and, if possible, figuring out how to replicate the materials their weapons were made of.

But all of that was just a mean to an end. His real objective was to utilize the alien tech to control and harvest the energy of the Space Gem that resided inside the Tesseract. It couldn't be that difficult—after all, it had already been done by human hands. Hydra and S.H.I.E.L.D were just one of the forces that had shown it was possible to use the Tesseract to create weapons, but Peter wanted more than just weapons. He wanted to fully control it.

Bend space, create pocket dimensions., travel through space—these were just a few uses he could think of right now, but there were undoubtedly countless others he could discover later.

Walking through his hideout, Peter muttered to himself.

"I have to hurry up and learn everything I can. I don't know how much time I have until S.H.I.E.L.D or the Avengers find me. Sure, it will take some time, but it's certain they won't stop until they find me. After all, I took something really important."

A sense of urgency began to wash over him, whether he liked it or not. There wasn't anyone on his side, not before and not now—especially after what he had done.

 Sigh

He let out the air from his lungs to calm himself, this is what he wanted wasn't it? Why bother about something he knew would happen from the start...

"Well there's no time to waste thinking about those things, let's dive right into it. It'll probably be impossible to learn everything I want, but learning the key tech I need right now shouldn't be that difficult…"

"It's pitiful that a few of the weapons will be destroyed in the process. I don't really have the leisure time to dismantle them. I also doubt aliens would utilize Phillips or Frearson screws on their high-tech weapons, so brute force and a torch will be the only way I can study them…"

While mumbling to himself, Peter began preparing the items he would need to study the alien tech. As he did so, he thought about how great it would be to create an AI later on that could help him not only conduct his research but also gather other informations he might need from the outside world.

After all, he didn't know everything about this world. But that was a plan for him to work on later. For now, he needed to focus, learning what he could from the alien tech in front of him.

After preparing everything he needed, he walked to the table where the items he would study were laid out. The alien tech he'd scavenged during the battle was neatly spread across the long metal table of his hideout.

"It would be great if I had a controlled space to do my research in... but this is better than nothing."

The first items he focused on were the energy spears and energy rifles.

Using a torch and his inhuman strength, he began dismantling the weapons. The outer shell was taken apart with little to no care, but as he reached the internals, he slowed down, treating them with extreme caution—like a dangerous baby that could…

Boom!

Explode in his hand...

"Ugh, I was careless. I didn't control my strength enough… this damn energy core is too weak. How could something like that be used inside a war weapon?!"

Even though the energy core container exploded right in front of his face, he wasn't hurt at all. Apart from his disheveled appearance, which now resembled that of a mad scientist, there was no real damage.

But Peter didn't let that failed attempt stop him. He grabbed another weapon from the table and began dismantling it again.

Boom!

Another failure. This time, when he tried to disconnect an energy path that connected the weapon tip to the core, the energy stored inside went on a rampage.

He didn't stop. He proceeded to grab another one from the table, his mind focused on learning from his mistakes.

Boom!

Boom!

Boom!

Boom!

Boom!

Failure after failure, he proceeded with out a stop with sheer will, the more he failed, more close he was to his objectives.

Even though his face was a mess from all the explosions, Peter's expression couldn't have been more satisfied.

 He had finally achieved success.

"Ugh, that was close. For a moment, I thought I'd have to go back to the battlefield and gather more Chitauri weapons. Luckily, I was able to dismantle the last two energy guns."

After destroying almost all of the weapons, Peter finally got the hang of it. Now, in front of him, the last two energy guns lay dismantled, their inner workings fully exposed. Despite some minor damage, he had successfully taken them apart.

He was a fast learner. If it were anyone else in the same situation he was in, they wouldn't have accomplished what he did in just nine tries. They would have needed hundreds, even thousands of attempts before achieving what Peter had.

After fully disassembling them, he began his research. With an improvised microscope, he examined the circuits imprinted on the energy cores, recording their patterns to later test on his own tech.

He also tested the material composition of the weapon, but nothing caught his interest. Apart from the refined processes those weapon materials had undergone, they were ultimately just like some materials he could find on Earth.

Not wanting to waste time refining materials, he focused his attention on studying the circuits inside the weapons.

With test after test, he began to understand the principles of energy channeling those weapons relied on.

Armed with this new knowledge, he began designing his own tech—a device capable of absorbing the energy from the Tesseract. A battery that could store that extracted energy inside. He even began to use it to create his own versions of Dr. Octavius' tech, mixed with the alien tech he had just learned.

"This alien tech is incredible! I would've never thought of utilizing these patterns for channeling energy. Even though they're not as strong, their tech is something else," Peter said, marveling at everything he had created during his brainstorming session after studying the Chitauri tech.

Even though the Chitauri seemed weak to him, they were a force to be feared. They were one of the most powerful armies in the galaxy. Hell, even the Avengers had struggled against them. If the portal hadn't been closed, they would have surely fallen to their sheer numbers and technology.

But Peter couldn't see that obvious reality. Well, even if he did, it wouldn't bother him that much—after all, they couldn't do anything against him. And with the new tech he had developed, they wouldn't even be able to touch a toe of his.

Before he could bring his newly developed tech to life, though, he had another problem at hand.

"Phase one is finished. Now I can proceed not only to production fase, but also study more ways to utilize the Tesseract. That is… if I had any resources left to do so..." he said, looking at the little resources left in his hideout.

Before creating his enhanced super soldier serum, his base had almost nothing left. If he hadn't borrowed some resources from Osborn Industries for an indefinite amount of time, he wouldn't have even been able to create it.

Apart from the spoils he had gathered from the New York battlefield, he hadn't acquired any new resources. His warehouse was completely depleted. Even a rat would starve to death if it looked for food there...

But that wasn't the end. During his serum development phase, he had created something that could not only fetch him some money but also create enough distraction to divert some of S.H.I.E.L.D's resources that were being used to track him.

During development, some serum defects were created. He had almost thrown them all away, but one man's trash is another man's treasure. If selling that "trash" could help him gather resources and create some problems to distract his pursuers, he didn't mind selling it.

He just needed a suitable buyer...

"Who could waste a huge amount of money on something that could improve one's strength?" Peter began thinking about who would be the fo— cough* good soul—to buy his product.

After thinking for a while, a name appeared in his mind. Not only did this person have huge amounts of resources from various industries, but he was also a power-hungry control freak who would do anything to achieve his goals. That person was...
