The next morning Merlin want to give some get well soon flowers to Morgana and knocked on the door with Guinevere opening the door to greet him.
Guinevere told Merlin that she was staying at Morgana's side due to being very concerned as even she has never seen Morgana in such a state.
Then Morgana's body began to thrash around in her bed As though in the claws of a terrifying nightmare.
Merlin gave an understanding nod to Guinevere and asked If she could give the flowers to Morgana in his stead. Guinevere agreed saying that she would make sure Morgana know who they came from.
As Merlin gave one last look into the room he saw another vase full of flowers with a note attached but what attracted him to the vase most was the type of flowers they were.
To those who had studied magic would be able to tell that they were all magical flowers that would help induce relaxation in the body and peace in the mind yet, even these did not work as well as they normally would which told him exactly how much Morgana was currently suffering.
The day would pass relatively uneventfully, and then the night came.
Morgana and Guinevere both sat on the side of the bed.
" I can stay, If that would make you feel better."
" You've done so much already Gwen."
" I don't mind."
With resolution in her voice Morgana said, " i'll be fine." After a visibly conflicted moment she continued, " Really."
But the look in Guinevere's eyes said she didn't completely believe her but she would trust her lady.
After putting a reassuring hand on Morgana's own hand, Guinevere got up and proceeded to walk towards the door but before she got halfway, she heard Morgana speak up.
" Gwen?"
Guinevere turned around and Morgana continued, " Take the candle."
Guinevere took the candle from her bedside and left the room with it.
Morgana then lay in bed, ready to go to sleep.
But before she could the sound of thunder roared out causing her to jolt and then her eyes shined gold and the vase holding Merlin's flowers exploded resulting in a very panicked Morgana.
…
As Merlin was blowing out the candles in the physician chambers that he and Gaius shared the door opened with a bang.
Morgana was walking with a rush in her step then asked Merlin, "Is Gaius here?"
"Er, no, He's not here at the moment. He should be back pretty soon, though."
" I need to speak to him! Where is he?"
" He's gone to see the king."
Seeing the look in Morgana's eyes Merlin asked, " what's wrong?"
Morgana looked like she wanted to say something, but the words were stuck in her throat so she turned her head away as though trying to make a choice.
Seeing this Merlin said, " you can trust me, Morgana. You know you can."
" I.. I'm scared, Merlin."
" I don't understand anything any more."
" I need to know what's happening."
" So please…"
Merlin made a temporary decision, " Gaius will be back soon. He'll be able to help you."
Morgana shook her head " He won't. I don't want anymore remedies! They won't do any good."
Then a moment of silence pasted before Morgana continued, " It's Magic, Merlin."
Merlin pretend to show a look of shock as if he hadn't heard what he had the day before and said " What?"
" I'm your friend, you know I wouldn't make this up."
" Of course."
" Then you believe me?"
And for the first time since this had began Morgana sounded relieved while saying " you think it's magic too?"
" Please, Merlin, I just need to hear someone say it, so I don't have to keep feeling like I'm imagining it!"
Merlin nodded his head slightly but all that was passing through his head was the decision he had to make. Right here. Right now.
Unfortunately, due to the amount of thoughts that were going through his hand, the only thing he could say in this moment was, " I really wish there was something I could say…"
But the look in Morgana's eyes said it all, it was still being denied to her face. So she walked away.
" Morgana…" Merlin called out but Morgana kept walking away Marlon called out louder asking her to wait, but she didn't. She walked right out of there.
…
Merlin then went to talk not to Taylor but to the great dragon and his name is Kilgharrah.
As Merlin entered the large underground cave where the dragon was shackled he saw The area ahead of him empty as usual after a moment the dragon few down and landed face to face with Merlin, the dragon's chain sounded loudly with every movement.
Merlin said, " I need your help. Do you know where the druids are?"
Kilgharrah replied, " First you must tell me why you seek them."
First Merlin said it didn't matter but Kilgharrah did not believe that for a moment then Merlin attempted to Word his sentences in ways so he wouldn't have to tell the complete truth.
This also didn't work as Kilgharrah had lived for over 1000 years he had saw civilisations rise and fall, Merlin would not be able to lie to him. So he eventually confessed that someone he cares about needs the druids help.
Kilgharrah Said, " you speak of the witch, The lady Morgana."
" She is not a witch! She's my friend."
" She cannot be trusted."
" What makes you say that?"
" It would be better if the witch…"
" Stop calling her that!"
" It would be better if the witch never knew the true extent of her powers."
" You're wrong. I know her. She has a good heart."
" You have failed to heat my advice in the past and it brought grave consequences."
" I won't abandon her!"
Kilgharrah shook his head and said, " I will not give you the help you seek. If you pursue this course of action, you do so alone.
And with that Merlin left.
…
While Merlin was polishing Arther's armour deep in thought, both Arther and Leon walked in with a list of name of those suspected of consorting with sorcerers, witches or druids.
After Leon left, a short while of magical shenanigans and banter over flowers that Arther saw Merlin attempt to hide when they bumped into each other yesterday, Merlin was able to read the list of names and found the one he was looking for as well as their last known dwelling.
As Merlin left the citadel towards the lower town, Merlin witnessed massive numbers of people being pushed and dragged towards the prison.
Clearly people who have been suspected of sorting with those who use magic in anyway, with the exception of Taylor and members of his faction.
In the lower town Merlin witnessed people getting dragged out of their homes, Merlin then reach the front door and using his magic unlocked the door.
After finding the occupant and getting her out before the guards could get to her and although she didn't completely trust Merlin due to his position as prince Arther's manservant, she eventually told him what he wanted to know.
Later that night Merlin was on his was to Morgana to tell her that he would take her to see the druids but as he walked up the half spiral staircase he saw Taylor at the top leaning against the wall.
" Teacher! What are you doing here?" Merlin asked.
" Merlin, Merlin, Merlin. Tell me, why did you make the druids your choice when your teacher it right here."
Obviously Taylor had his own guesses about why, but most of them required Merlin to disregard one of his most important teachings.
" uh, hmm, well I wanted Morgana to understand and learn about her gift somewhere safe."
" Ohhhh, is that right? So so her learning and understanding her gift with Me wouldn't be safe?"
Feeling a little awkward after realising how his words could be interpreted, Merlin attempted to reword it, " Oh no Teacher, I didn't mean it that way, I meant it more like the living environment around her during her studies."
" *Sigh* Merlin let's just get straight to it, that way you'll stop embarrassing yourself." Taylor began walking jesting for Merlin to follow him, which he did.
" Now while what you said may-be true, they clearly weren't the reason for you not to have her come and learn from me, now will you tell me the reason why or must I guess why?"
Knowing that it would be idiotic to lie about the reason at this point due to the fact that when Taylor makes a guess he has always been right first time, so Merlin did not conceal the real reason.
" Because I also feared that if I brought her to you and if the king ever found out he would start a second war against magic with you and your faction as the primary cause and target."
" Well Merlin while I'm glad that you put some thought into this, you've clearly overlooked something very important, do you want to guess what you overlooked or should I tell you?"
Merlin already knew that this was a question that he isn't meant to answer, it's like one of those questions you aren't meant to answer, not because you can't answer, but because the asker doesn't actually want you to give one.
" Please tell me Teacher what have I overlooked?"
" You have overlooked the fact the you have been primarily thinking of her as your friend. Now while this is indeed true, she has another equally important identity."
" She's the king's ward. Now tell me Merlin what do you think the king will do the moment he finds out his ward is missing?"
Realising what he had overlooked Merlin replied, " he would send a search party out to look for her."
" Yes But he would do much more than that."
Taylor then explained to Merlin all Consequences that would occur after such an event.
