Chapter 260 - U.A. High School Entrance Exam; Part 2

MHA Universe, Earth, Japan, Musutafu.

After watching Izuku's meeting with the brown-haired girl, Tatsuo, Akatsuki, and Sakura made their way into the U.A. campus. They then made their way to the main building's entrance where they were separated to take the written part of the exam.

Upon entering his test room, Tatsuo first looked around to see if he recognized any of the other test takers. And as it happened, he actually recognized two of them. Though, he did not go out of his way to speak to either of them.

The first person Tatsuo recognized, though saying he recognized her would be a bit inaccurate, was a girl. However, there were no recognizable facial features he could see. Instead, he could only recognize her because of the school uniform that seemed to be floating without a body to hold it up.

'That's Hagakure Toru.' Tatsuo thought to himself. 'Well, if nothing goes wrong, we should be in Class 1-A together. Then again, with Akatsuki, Sakura, and I taking the exam, there are probably gonna be three people that either end up in Class 1-B or the General Studies Course. But since I don't remember the rankings after the entrance exam, I have no way of knowing who they will be.'

The second one Tatsuo recognized was also a girl. Though, recognizing her was easier thanks to her long orange hair tied into a ponytail, somewhat sharp teal eyes, and her slender figure.

'And that's Kendo Itsuka.' Tatsuo thought to himself as he approached his assigned seat for the exam. 'She was the class rep for Class 2-B. She was also in the top ten for the entrance exam scores. Hmm... Now that I think about it, that doesn't mean that just because we all score high, we'll all be in Class 1-A. I hope we're not separated. It would make things like the USJ incident a little harder if we're not all there.'

Time passed quickly as Tatsuo continued to think. Meanwhile, Tatsuo, who was not paying attention to his surroundings while he was lost in thought, completely missed all the gazes sent his way.

"He's so handsome."

"Do you think he's applying to the hero course?"

"Probably. I mean, look at his body. Even in his uniform, you can tell he's well-built."

"I wonder if he has a girlfriend."

"Damn that handsome guy. I hope he fails. Otherwise, all the girls will only look at him."

The last comment was made by another student Tatsuo would have recognized. Unfortunately, thanks to the young man's way below-average height, Tatsuo missed the head full of purple balls that was trying his best to be inconspicuous while sneaking peaks at girls' legs, butts, and, if the opportunity presented itself, up their skirts.

However, all the students eventually returned to their seats when the clock ticked closer to the start of the test. And when the invigilator entered the room, they all fell completely silent and listened to the short explanation before the exam started.

Two hours later, the exam ended and the students who applied for the Hero Course were directed to the auditorium. And as time went by, more and more students entered the auditorium. However, Tatsuo stayed near the doors to wait for Akatsuki and Sakura, as they had agreed to meet there before separating.

And he did not have to wait long for the first of the girls, Sakura, to arrive.

"Yo, how was the test?" Tatsuo asked while waving at Sakura as she approached.

"I think I did well." Sakura said with a small, gentle smile. "How about you?"

"It didn't feel any different from any other test I've ever taken." Tatsuo replied with a shrug.

Sakura nodded in agreement as she stood next to Tatsuo and turned to wait for Akatsuki to arrive. And they did not have to wait for too long. Though, they both had to hold back laughter when they saw the scowl on her face and the way she was holding back from kicking a short, male student with purple balls on his head.

"Hey, that's one of the people you told us to look out for, isn't it?" Sakura whispered to Tatsuo as she watched Akatsuki and the boy draw nearer.

"Yeah." Tatsuo whispered back with a nod. "His name is Mineta Minoru. He's the biggest pervert in U.A. Every girl should be wary of someone like him."

Nodding in understanding, Sakura raised her right hand into the air to get Akatsuki's attention.

"Akatsuki-San, over here!" Sakura said, raising her voice over the din of the approaching students in an attempt to draw Akatsuki's attention away from the student who was following her at way too close a distance.

Hearing someone call her nickname, Akatsuki's attention was immediately drawn to it. At the same time, after hearing a girl raise her voice, the short boy, Mineta Minoru, snapped his head in the same direction.

And when Minoru saw Sakura, without even registering Tatsuo's presence, his eyes lit up when they landed on Sakura's chest, whose size was not so apparent when clothed, as if he could see through the disguise.

"Whoa! What a hottie!" Minoru squealed excitedly. "U.A. is the best. Therea are so many beautiful girls here!"

"Tch! Disgusting pervert." Akatsuki growled after clicking her tongue when she noticed Minoru's line of sight. Though, because he was looking at Sakura's chest, there was something else mixed into her complaint that she would never admit, even under the threat of death.

"How did the test go, Akatsuki?" Tatsuo asked a moment later.

"It was fine." Akatsuki replied as she stomped away from Minoru. "Just another test."

"That's how I felt, too." Tatsuo replied with a nod. "Anyway, let's head inside. I'm pretty sure I saw Midoriya go in already. He didn't seem to notice me, though."

"He was probably too nervous to notice anyone." Sakura said softly.

"He would have probably noticed Bakugo-Kun, though." Akatsuki shot back nonchalantly.

With that, while ignoring Minoru, the trio entered the auditorium before taking seats near the back. Meanwhile, Minoru, after recognizing Tatsuo from his written exam room, gritted his teeth in jealousy.

"Why would those two pretty girls be hanging around that guy?" Minoru asked, the jealousy evident in his tone. "So, what if he's tall, good looking, and probably really muscular. Does that make him better than someone like me?"

When the other test takers, especially the female ones, all of whom saw Minoru sexually harassing Akatsuki, heard Minoru's complaints, they could not help rolling their eyes. Though, there were a few other boys who were jealous of Tatsuo. They then, as if they had discussed it prior, gave Minoru a wide berth as they made their way towards the auditorium, as well.

"Looks like you were right." Tatsuo, after taking his seat along with Akatsuki and Sakura, said while pointing towards the middle of the auditorium seating. "Midoriya really did find Bakugo."

Following Tatsuo's pointing finger, Akatsuki and Sakura saw Midoriya sitting next to his frenemy. Though, neither one was talking. On top of that, the ash blond boy, Bakugo, had a scowl on his face that made it look like he was only a moment away from killing everyone in the room. Meanwhile, Izuku looked as if his nerves were getting the better of him.

"Anyway, they should explain the practical exam soon, right?" Sakura asked as she turned to gaze at Tatsuo.

"That's right." Tatsuo replied with a nod. "One of the teachers, Present Mic, should show up and explain it."

Hearing that, both Akatsuki and Sakura nodded their heads. But Tatsuo was not done with his explanation.

"Just be ready to cover your ears." Tatsuo continued. "That guy is REALLY loud even without using his sound-based [Quirk]."

Once again, the two girls nodded their heads. At the same time, trusting Tatsuo, they tensed their muscles, ready to cover their ears from the inevitable sound wave barrage. And just when they prepared themselves, a tall man with long blond hair spiked up into a large tuft, a brown mustache, and greenish-yellow eyes with concentric pupils hidden behind a pair of orange-tinted sunglasses stepped onto the auditorium stage.

As for his outfit, or hero costume, this man, Present Mic, or Yamada Hizashi as he is called when out of costume, also consisted of a studded black leather jacket with a high collar, a pair of matching black pants and knee-high boots, tan shoulder pads, a red belt, matching elbow pads, and a pair of headphones.

"What's up, everyone!" Hizashi asked loudly, his voice carrying over the entire auditorium without the use of a microphone or his [Quirk]. "If everyone is ready for the U.A. High School Entrance Exam, let me hear you say YEAH~~~~~!"

While Hizashi spoke, most of the U.A. hopefuls hurried to cover their ears. Meanwhile, Akatsuki and Sakura, who had already been warned, looked at Tatsuo gratefully.

After that, things went just like they did in the source material with Hizashi explaining the contents of the entrance exam, a strait-laced, bespectacled boy reprimanding other students for being disruptive, and the reveal of what was supposed to be a nye-undefeatable opponent that would show up during the exam.

"The great hero Napolean Bonepart once said…" Hizashi said with great enthusiasm as he ended his presentation. "'True heroism consists in being superior to the ills of life.' Plus Ultra~~~! Break a leg everyone!"

With that, the explanation for the practical exam came to an end and everyone started to leave the auditorium. After leaving the auditorium, they would once again split up and head to their designated testing grounds. However, before the students were once again separated, Tatsuo, Akatsuki, and Sakura chatted about their thoughts on the coming exam.

"So, they'll be holding all the practical exams at the same time, huh?" Akatsuki asked. "Well, as many cameras as there are all over this campus, I guess that makes sense."

"Yeah, then we gotta fight Villain-Bots with designated point totals." Sakura added. "They'll score us by the numbers we can earn by destroying those robots. But…"

"Something feels off, right?" Tatsuo asked with a grin.

"Exactly." Sakura replied with a nod. "Why was there no explanation about rescuing people? Isn't that what being a hero is about more than fighting villains."

"Ah! Now that you mention it, that's right." Akatsuki exclaimed. "Why wouldn't there be points for rescuing people? Or did they think that would be too much for kids our age to think about while fighting?"

"Nah." Tatsuo replied. He then continued in a tone that made it seem as if he was guessing about what he was saying. "If I had to guess, it's a hidden score. I mean, if people wanna be heroes, they should always think about saving people, right? So, they'll probably watch us while we participate and score us separately on how willing we are to help people."

"I see." Akatsuki replied with a nod of understanding.

"That makes sense." Sakura added with a nod of her own.

Although it sounded like Tatsuo was only guessing, Akatsuki and Sakura both knew that he was telling them how things would be without revealing to much information. Especially since they were probably being watched at the moment.

"Anyway, which test venue are you two in?" Tatsuo asked curiously.

"I'n in group C." Sakura said.

"Group H for me." Akatsuki added. "What about you?"

"I'm in group S." Tatsuo replied. "Looks like we won't be able to work together in this exam. Probably because All Might told the principal about us. So, he wanted to see how well we work on our own."

With Akatsuki and Sakura nodding in response, the trio eventually left the auditorium before splitting up to change their clothes into something more suited for the practical test. Then, they headed towards their test areas to wait for the practical test to start.

Meanwhile, in the viewing room set up to watch the practical exam, many of U.A.'s teachers were gathered together to watch the students. And just as Akatsuki expected, there were a few pairs of eyes on the trio as they left the auditorium.

"So, that's the trio All Might was talking about, huh?" A tall, pale-skinned man with long, unkempt black hair, a stubbly beard, and tired looking black eyes wearing baggy black clothes, black boots, a utility belt, and a long grey scarf asked All Might. "They definitely appear different than the others taking the exam."

"Indeed, Young Soramoto, Young Hanekura, and Young Matou are all quite impressive." All Might, now in his buffed-up form, replied in his usual, reassuring tone. "They will all make fine heroes."

"We'll have to see about that." The black-haired man said as he crossed his eyes while watching the three separate on the monitors. "They'll have to pass my test before anything else."

"Oh, come on, Aizawa-Sensei." An even taller man with a bulky build, tanned-skin, pale grey hair, black eyes, and scars on the left side of his face and neck wearing a red and white costume said in an irritated tone. "At least let me have one or two of them. It would be such a shame for all three of them to be kicked out of the school because of your unreasonably high standards for first-years."

The two men, Aizawa Shota, Hero Name; Eraser Head, and Sekijiro Kan, Hero name: Vlad King, were the homeroom teachers for the first-year Hero Course students.

"Hmph!" Shota only snorted in response to Sekijiro's plea.

"Either way, we should see how they handle themselves during the exam before either of you get your hopes up to high." Nezu, sitting at the desk in the room, said before taking a sip from a teacup. For now, let's just watch the show. Hehehe! I'm sure all these human children will put on quite the spectacle for us."

Hearing that, Toshinori, Shota, and Sekijiro shot a glance at Nezu. But because they knew both is past and personality, his words did not bother them all that much. So, they simply turned their attention back to the monitors that showed all the practical exam venues while paying closer attention to the students that caught their eye.
