Chapter 410 - Chapter 406: Jaguar Express, Mission Accomplished!

After dropping the kids off, Fujino drove Conan and Haibara Ai back to Beika Town's Block 5. Just as he pulled his car up to the detective agency's entrance, a man in a black suit and dark sunglasses stepped out of a luxurious black minivan parked nearby and walked straight toward Fujino.

"Huh?" Fujino's brow furrowed as he noticed the man. It was late at night, and this guy was in a black suit. Sure, Fujino was wearing one too, but there was no need to look so pretentious wearing sunglasses in the dead of night...

Haibara Ai stared at the man, momentarily stunned, but her expression quickly softened. It seemed the "Black Organization radar" hadn't been triggered. Conan, on the other hand, frowned, sizing up the man's all-black attire as if facing a mortal enemy, even reaching down to loosen his soccer-ball-firing shoe.

"Excuse me, are you Touji Fujino?" the man asked, bowing slightly to Fujino.

"That's right, I am," Fujino replied, puzzled. "What can I do for you?"

"We are exclusive VIP service specialists from Jaguar Express, under Cheetah Courier." Having confirmed Fujino's identity, the man politely bowed again, then motioned to the minivan behind him. He explained, "To be honest, we've been waiting for you for half a day. We have a package here sent to you by Mr. KID. Please sign for it."

"Cheetah Courier's luxury VIP service?" Fujino was momentarily bewildered. He hadn't expected this elaborate setup just to deliver a package. Conan, meanwhile, was utterly shocked, giving Fujino a strange look.

Fujino didn't notice Conan's expression; he just thought the name "Jaguar" was a bit... abstract. But he was quite pleased with such refined service. He looked up at the man and asked, "Cheetah Courier has a service like this?"

"Of course," the man straightened slightly. Though his face was stern, a faint hint of embarrassment could be seen as he recited the slogan: "Jaguar Express, Mission Accomplished! We provide the highest quality service to our clients, with swift delivery anytime, anywhere! Within the country, twenty-four hours; internationally, forty-two hours. Delivery time is based on timely receipt at the address."

Fujino was speechless. "Alright, I can tell you didn't want to shout that slogan." Still, twenty-four-hour domestic delivery was impressive. And forty-two hours for international? They must be flying out there directly. This Jaguar Express was truly ridiculous.

"Where would you like it placed?" Just then, two burly men in suits carried a huge cardboard box out of the minivan's trunk. The man pulled a waybill from his pocket and handed it to Fujino. "Please confirm the waybill and ensure the item is in good condition. Also, please pay the service fee for this VIP service."

Fujino was taken aback. "Service fee?"

"Yes, Mr. KID chose cash-on-delivery service," the man reminded him. "Based on the delivery distance, the fee for this service is ten thousand yen."

"Ten thousand yen..." Fujino's eyebrow twitched violently. That wasn't cheap at all... Hadn't Kaito Kuroba said it was free shipping? He actually pulled this stunt! Clearly, he hadn't taken Fujino's words seriously!

Fujino sighed helplessly, silently cursing Kaito Kuroba in his mind, and reluctantly signed the waybill.

He opened the large box to find a disassembled hang glider, a manual beside it, and, as a bonus, an extra card gun, a complete set of Kaitou Kid's original costume, and a monocle. There was also a card that read:

To the Great Detective! This is the hang glider you ordered. The other items are just little gifts from me. Be sure to thank me! Remember, it's cash on delivery—KID.

"That kid... playing games with me!" Fujino's eyebrow twitched slightly. "Cash on delivery, huh? And you deliberately brought it up! Next time, you won't get any 'good juice' from me!"

Conan was just... speechless. "So, why do you get a delivery from KID?! And it's a whole set of gear, costume, and hang glider... Why don't I get anything?! This is infuriating!"

"I'm going home first!" Conan, like a resentful wife, shot Fujino a sour look and headed straight back to the Mouri Detective Agency without looking back.

"Looks like someone's jealous..." Haibara Ai glanced back at Conan's figure, a slight smirk playing on her lips.

"Right, next time I see him, I should send him some 'warmth'..." Meanwhile, Fujino was still contemplating his revenge. "Sending warmth to a countryman... Rice, flour, and cooking oil should do, right?"

Haibara Ai sighed. "Why does he suddenly sound so childish? I really don't understand what goes on in the minds of you detectives and phantom thieves."

"System detective mission complete!"

"Two million yen and three hundred detective prestige points have been awarded!"

"Current Detective Prestige: 800 (1200 points remaining until upgrade)"

"Current Balance: 238,050,000 yen"

Fujino carried Kaitou Kid's "little gifts" upstairs. As soon as he placed them on the floor of his room, the system mission rewards were suddenly tallied.

"Only twelve hundred more points..." Fujino silently gazed at the system screen before him, a thoughtful look in his eyes. "I wonder what effects upgrading to 'Advanced' will have. Twenty million yen, roughly eighteen million after a discount. I can afford it, but I wonder if it's worth the price..." For him, eighteen million yen wasn't much. He was just curious about what kind of effects the "Advanced" upgrade would bring.

"Time to rack up more detective prestige..." Fujino decided not to dwell on it, turning his attention to the hang glider and the costume.

The hang glider Kaito Kuroba sent was exquisitely crafted, identical to the one he used. Aside from the hang glider, the clothes and card gun were also virtually identical. The hang glider could be linked with the suit, its mechanisms neatly concealing the modular glider without affecting mobility. The card gun was a multi-functional weapon, capable of firing cards, grappling hooks, and other strange things, based on its purpose. From the craftsmanship, both the card gun and the hang glider seemed to be from the same person's hand...

Fujino thought about it briefly, and soon, a smiling, balding, chubby old man appeared in his mind: "Hmm, it must be Professor Agasa."

However, as he pondered, a sudden realization struck him, as if he'd just figured something out. Connecting the clues in his mind, he realized his hang glider arrived today, meaning it was made yesterday or the day before. And just now, Ayumi and the others had invited him on a trip. If that was the case, then Professor Agasa and the kids' travel funds were all paid for by Uncle Phantom Thief!

"Tsk, tsk, tsk, that weird uncle is loaded!"
