Chapter 3 - New Teacher Zephyr

Light spent the entire day practicing the Aerthys (Air) spell, determined to master it. As the sun began to set, he heard a gentle knock on the door. It was Zephyr, the renowned mage and friend of his mother's.

Zephyr smiled warmly at Light. "I see you're eager to learn magic, young one. I'm happy to help you, but I must warn you - I only specialize in Aerthys (Air). My expertise lies in harnessing the power of the winds."

Light's eyes widened with excitement. "That's perfect, Zephyr! I want to learn more about Aerthys!"

Zephyr nodded. "Excellent! However, I must remind you that your brother Raj has already awakened to Pyrope (Fire). He'll need to master that element before he can explore others. But for you, Light, the path of Aerthys is open."

Zephyr began to guide Light through a series of exercises, teaching him how to control and focus his magic. Light proved to be a quick learner, and Zephyr was impressed by his dedication.

As the training session came to a close, Zephyr offered words of encouragement. "Remember, Light, mastering Aerthys takes time and patience. Don't be discouraged if you encounter setbacks - they're an opportunity to learn and grow."

As the night fell, Light's family retired to their chambers, exhausted from the day's activities. But Light's curiosity got the better of him. He snuck out of his room, carrying the book about Nemesis, and made his way to the dimly lit library.

The flickering candles cast eerie shadows on the walls as Light settled into a cozy corner, book in hand. He delved deeper into the pages, devouring information about the world, its magic, and the mysterious forces that shaped it.

As he read, Light discovered a passage about the ancient magic that once flowed through Nemesis. It spoke of a time when the elements were in balance, and the world was at peace. But a catastrophic event, known only as "The Great Disruption," had shattered the equilibrium, leaving the world in its current state.

Intrigued, Light wondered what had caused The Great Disruption. Was it a natural event, or was it triggered by something more sinister?

Lost in thought, Light didn't notice the hours passing. The candles burned low, casting the library in an eerie darkness.

Light's eyes widened as he read about the 5 stages of elemental evolution. He felt a surge of excitement and determination, knowing that he had a clear path to follow in his magical journey.

The stages were:

1. Light Soul - Awakening: Unlocking the elemental affinity and discovering one's magical potential.

2. Purple Soul - Foundation: Mastering basic spells and understanding the fundamentals of the element.

3. Red Soul - Mastery: Achieving intermediate-level proficiency and unlocking the potential to wield multiple elements.

4. Shade Soul - Empowerment: Reaching a level of power rivaling that of magical beasts, with enhanced abilities and strength.

5. Dark Soul - Perfection: Attaining complete mastery of the element, including all spells and the evolution form.

Light felt a sense of purpose, knowing that he had to work through these stages to achieve his goals. He realized that his journey would be challenging, but he was ready to face it head-on.

With newfound determination, Light closed the book and returned to his room, his mind buzzing with excitement and anticipation for the adventures ahead.

Light's eyes sparkled with amazement as he read about the typical awakening ages for humans and elves. Humans usually awakened to their magical abilities at around 10 years old, while elves awakened at 8 years old.

But Light and his brother Raj were exceptions. Raj had awakened to Pyrope (Fire) at just 5 years old, and Light had awakened to Aerthys (Air) at an astonishing 3 years old!

This made them prodigies, rare individuals with exceptional magical potential. Light felt a sense of pride and wonder, realizing that he and his brother were ahead of their peers in terms of magical development.

He couldn't wait to see how their abilities would grow and evolve as they continued to learn and master their elements. And with Zephyr's guidance, Light was confident that he would become a powerful mage in his own right.

After a long day of training, reading, and discovering the secrets of Nemesis, Light's eyelids finally grew heavy. He snuggled deeper into the couch, the book still clutched in his hand, and let out a soft sigh.

As the candlelight flickered, Light's breathing slowed, and he drifted off to sleep, surrounded by the ancient tomes and mysterious artifacts of the library.

His dreams were filled with visions of elemental magic, swirling winds, and flames that danced at his fingertips. The secrets of Nemesis whispered through his mind, hinting at the adventures yet to come.

The night wore on, and the library grew quiet, except for the soft sound of Light's peaceful slumber.

The next morning, Light arrived at the training area, eager to learn more about magic and the elements. Zephyr greeted him with a warm smile and began their lesson.

As they practiced spells and techniques, Zephyr revealed that she had reached the Shade Soul stage, the fourth level of elemental mastery. Light's eyes widened in awe, impressed by Zephyr's achievement.

But then, a curious thought struck him. "Zephyr, if you're at the Shade Soul stage, why do you only have one element, Aerthys (Air)? Shouldn't you have multiple elements by now?"

Zephyr's expression turned thoughtful, and she nodded. "That's a perceptive question, Light. Normally, yes, one would expect to have multiple elements by the Shade Soul stage. However, my situation is... unique."

Zephyr paused, collecting her thoughts before continuing. "You see, I've dedicated myself solely to mastering Aerthys. I've delved deeper into its secrets and potential than most mages ever do. My focus has allowed me to reach the Shade Soul stage with just one element."

Light's curiosity was piqued. "But why choose just one element, Zephyr? What drove you to specialize in Aerthys?"

Zephyr's eyes seemed to gaze into the distance, as if memories long past were resurfacing. "Ah, that's a story for another time, Light. Let's focus on your training for now."

Light's curiosity got the better of him, and he pressed on, determined to uncover the truth. "But Zephyr, please tell me! Why did you choose to specialize in just Aerthys? What's so special about it?"

Zephyr chuckled, a hint of amusement in her voice. "You're quite persistent, aren't you, Light? Very well, I'll share a part of my story with you."

She paused, collecting her thoughts before beginning. "I was once part of a prestigious magical academy, where I was trained in multiple elements. But during my journey, I discovered a hidden text that spoke of Aerthys' true potential. It was said that Aerthys held the key to unlocking the secrets of the ancient magic that once flowed through Nemesis."

Zephyr's eyes sparkled with a hint of excitement. "I became obsessed with uncovering the truth. I dedicated myself to mastering Aerthys, pouring all my energy into understanding its intricacies. And as I delved deeper, I discovered that Aerthys was more than just an element – it was a gateway to something greater."

Light's eyes widened, his mind racing with possibilities. "Something greater? What do you mean?"

Zephyr's smile grew enigmatic. "That, Light, is a secret for another time. But know this: my choice to specialize in Aerthys was not taken lightly. It was a path chosen with purpose, and one that I believe will lead to great discoveries."

Light's curiosity continued to press Zephyr for answers. "But Zephyr, if you've dedicated your whole life to mastering Aerthys, why haven't you reached its evolution form? You're at the Shade Soul stage, just one step away from the Dark Soul stage, where evolution is possible."

Zephyr's expression turned contemplative, her eyes gazing into the distance. "That, Light, is a question I've asked myself many times. I've wondered if my singular focus on Aerthys has been a limitation, rather than a strength."

She paused, collecting her thoughts before continuing. "The truth is, Light, I've been hesitant to take the final step. Evolving Aerthys would mean unlocking its true potential, but it also means risking everything I've worked for. I've seen mages who have attempted evolution and failed, losing control of their element and themselves."

Zephyr's voice took on a hint of vulnerability. "I've feared that if I fail, I'll lose the very essence of who I am. And so, I've hesitated, stuck between my desire for knowledge and my fear of the unknown."

Light's eyes widened in understanding. He saw the depth of Zephyr's passion and her fear, and he realized that her journey was far more complex than he had initially thought.

Zephyr's eyes sparkled with excitement as she revealed the secrets of elemental evolution. "When you evolve an element, it unfolds into three stages: Priest Soul, Wizard Soul, and Devil Soul."

" Priest Soul allows you to control the element's fury, summoning powerful forces like tornadoes as a traveling tool. Wizard Soul grants mastery over all spells related to the element, including its evolution form. And Devil Soul... Ah, Devil Soul is the pinnacle."

Zephyr's voice took on a hint of awe. "Devil Soul unlocks ancient spells, hidden knowledge that allows you to wield the element's true potential. It's said that achieving Devil Soul can grant access to lost spells, forgotten techniques that hold the key to unimaginable power."

Light's eyes widened as he listened, his mind racing with the possibilities.

Zephyr's expression turned serious. "But, Light, no one has ever achieved Devil Soul in Aerthys. Many have attempted, but the trials are too great, the risks too high. I fear that even I may not be able to overcome the challenges that lie ahead."

Light felt a surge of determination. He wanted to help Zephyr achieve Devil Soul, to unlock the secrets of Aerthys and explore the unknown.

Will Light and Zephyr embark on a journey to achieve Devil Soul, or will the risks prove too great?
