Chapter 27 - Hidden Quest Rewards

*Sigh...

I opened my eyes and looked up towards the ceiling of the room. I just couldn't believe that Dofu and Amelia were dead even after 30 minutes had already passed since I got teleported... Though, It seems like I am starting to accept it more and more now as I feel a lot better now from a few minutes ago.

Though, thinking about them again makes me start feeling bad so I decided to keep my mind occupied with something else.

I looked around the room to see Androsi sitting a bit distance away from me. It seemed like she was giving me some space... and I was grateful that she did that.

The other three regulars were also sitting. All three of them were together and it seemed that they had formed some kind of team of sorts. They were talking amoung themselves and getting to know each other. They all looked like shounen protagonist's group members as they all had colourful hair. Blue, Yellow and Red.

It seemed Androsi noticed that I was looking at the group of three and decided to speak.

"Don't misunderstand them. They are just getting information on each other as they know that the next test could either pit them against each other or put them together to fight other team. In both situations, getting more knowledge about other people's skills is a good idea. So they are on it for almost half an hour now..." Androsi explained as she looked at the trio in the distance.

"Oh, I see..." I was starting to see the trio in a new light after hearing that.

Looking at them, I again started remembering Amelia and Dofu as we were also a trio but then shook my head as I tried to look for something else to distract my mind. I didn't had to look for long though, as I remember that I had still not checked the rewards that I got from the hidden Quest...

If I remember correctly, I got 10k Gold, A basic skill card and... A hidden stat? Those were not in the game though...

I decided to check that first and looked at my status to see what this hidden stat is...

My eyes first landed on the amount of gold I had, and a smile rose from inside of my being. '13k gold... I am rich... again...'

I wanted to immediately start looking through the shop to buy stuff after seeing that much gold but then I controlled myself and decided to focus on the hidden stat first.

'Ok, it's official. I have no idea what dexterity is. I have never heard of Dexterity in that game before... Was there a hidden stat in that game that wasn't even revealed to the public? Maybe, The game developments just added this stat to measure some kind of... Unique uhh... Attribute hidden from player's eyes?'

I don't remember THAT game having this stat, so I was quite confused as to how it is being introduced by the system that is based on that game... And unfortunately, I don't even know what this stat does . There is also no way of knowing what it does... Wait... There might be a way to know that...

"System, tell me more about the hidden stat, Dexterity." I asked. I had found out that the system was a bit more like chat gpt. It would answer my questions if I asked it but other then that, it wouldn't actively converse with me. Maybe it wasn't smart enough to do that, maybe it just doesn't like me or maybe it is just a program and I am just thinking too much which is most likely correct...

______________

Dexterity Stat is a hidden stat that wasn't in the game that The user used to play, but had been added by the co-creater of the system instead.

______________

.

______________

The Dexterity stat is a stat that grants the user more 'control' over their skills and improves the skills to some extent.

_______________

"... Okay... Uh... what do you mean by, 'more control', Like, what kind of control?"

_______________

Having more control over skills means that the user will have more authority over them. For example, the skill, [Force Swing] can only be swung vertically but by increasing the Dexterity, the user can perform the skill any way they want. Vertically, horizontally or any other way... Not only that but, after increasing the Dexterity to a high level, all the system skills will truly be yours meaning you can also teach those skills that you get from the system to others as well, though there are exceptions to that.

So, it basically gives me flexibility over the skills I acquired from the system? I am still slightly confused but that is it, isn't it?

Hm... I don't think that is too important of a stat... is it? like, flexibility is good and all, but I don't really need that. Though I guess the system wasn't finished as I again saw another window appear in front of my eyes.

__________________

Also, The dexterity stat also improves skills a bit. whether the improvement is in damage, in the sheild that certain skills provides or in something entirely different, it depends on the skill itself.

__________________

That was vague, but I guess this stat is just all about the skills that I get from system. if I ever wanted the skills to be a bit more better, like having more damage or something, then I should look for this stat, I guess.

Feeling like this was nothing too important, I looked at the other two rewards I got for completing the hidden quest.

I wanted to use the basic skill card next but wasn't sure, what skill to buy. There were more then 150 heroes in the game and every hero had at least two basic skills, so I couldn't possibly remember all the skills that were in the game. so, I looked through the basic skill section of the shop but wasn't able to find anything too interesting.

The most comman type of skills I could find there, were damage, Sheild and mobility type of skills. I technically had all three types of skills so I didn't really wanted any more of those... I looked through more of the skills there and after almost 20 minutes, I finally found the one that I wanted.

It was a skill used by a half marksman half assassin type hero, Lasley. She was a sniper.

[Master Of Camouflage]

Enter a camouflage like stat. While in this stat, the user's movement speed will increase by 40% and STR by 85.

The camouflage stat lasts 3 seconds but if any damage is done to the user or is being done by the user, then camouflage stat will end after the damage is done.

The camouflage stat isn't perfect as others will be able to see a slight distortion in space that might expose the user.

-Movement Speed: +40%

-STR: +85

-Duration: 3 seconds

-Cooldown: 3 seconds.

____________________

To be honest, this skill had made me interested but as the duration was quite short, I felt it might not be worth taking this skill. So, I looked through a few more skills until I saw another camouflage skill.

It was a skill of an assassin type hero, Aamon.

___________________

[Slayer Shard]

Throw a magic shard forward, The shard will return back a second after it is being thrown and the user will gain a camouflage like stat after its return.

If the Shard hits an enemy, it will deal 120(+50%MAT) Magic damage and will return to the user immediately without any delay.

The camouflage stat will end after 5 seconds or, if any damage is being dealt to or by the user. This camouflage stat isn't perfect...

-Damage: 120

-Duration: 5 seconds

-Cooldown: 13 Seconds.

___________________

... The cooldown was quite high in this skill... Also, there wasn't a way for me to even use this skill as the skill required a magic weapon to be used, Magic Shards. As I don't have this weapon, I will not be able to use the skill anyway...

Thinking so, I decided to take the previous skill instead. even though the duration was short, I could still manage... I think...

After I took that skill, I realised that I had been looking through the skill's section, for almost half an hour. Looking through all those skills was quite time consuming.

But, now that I was done, I decided to focus on something that I was really excited to do. I had gotten 10k Gold from the hidden quest and together with the other hidden quest's reward and the gold I already had before, I now had 13k gold.

My plan after gaining enough Gold was to to buy the Blade of Despair, and that was exactly what I did. I brought The Blade of Despair and looked at my status again.

I felt satisfied as I looked at my STR stat. Now, even my most basic attack would be deathly. I felt like I might also be able to defeat Akryung now... Maybe...

And the best part of it all was that I still had 10k gold left... the smile wasn't leaving my face as I looked at the 10k that I still had and started thinking of what to buy next.

The next thing I had planned to do was to increase the CD reduction, so I started by looking for a stat equip that would increase my CD reduction stat and would also cost the lowest gold. But, as I was looking through the shop, I stumbled upon something that I wasn't quite expecting to find there. It was an equipment that I had just brought... The Blade of Despair... I checked the description and it really was the blade of despair that I had just gotten.

In the game, It wasn't possible to buy the same Equipment two or more times, so I was quite confused.

"System, Can I buy the Blade of Despair again, even though I had just brought it?" The system answered–

__________________

Yes, The user can buy any equipment as many times as the user may want as the 'restriction' of not being able to buy the same Equipment more then one time has been removed. And so, The user can buy the same Equipment, more then one times and will also receive all the stat increase that the equip provides.

__________________

"I see..." It wasn't too much of a game changer but I guess it was still a good thing that I could do that as the blade of despair would give me more STR then anything else, I would gladly buy this more then once to increase my STR more...

After this, I decided to again start my search for the cheapest CD reduction stat equipment. I was still thinking of going along with the plan of making CD reduction reach 100%.

Author,-

The Dexterity stat is a stat that would allow MC to be able to use his skills (Like force swing) even without the system.

Currently, the system helps MC whenever he performs any skill and if the system is taken or is removed, then the mc will not be able to use his skills freely but if the Dexterity is at 100%, he would be able to have full 'Mastery' over the skills and would also be able to use them without the help from the system..
