Zen shook his head then sighed.
"You really have to ask that? I almost lost you today. You can be so reckless at times that I think it's just plain dangerous to let you out of my sight. I still can't get over how much a close call today was… way too close. I don't want to have a repeat of tonight ever again. By the way when we reach Morgan's safehouse you can tell me exactly what happened in the haunted house."
Lithe sighed wearily, "You stumbled across the first of the trio, was he still alive?"
"I came as the ambulance was escorting him out, luckily there was a doctor enjoying the carnival that day with his family that was able to administer CPR, the wounded man was alive but barely breathing."
