Meeting and talking with Grand Kai was simpler and smoother than expected.
You could say Talot had overthought things.
Grand Kai merely wanted to see what a Super Saiyan looked like, and also hoped that with the arrival of Talot and the others, the long-quiet Grand Kai's Planet could become a bit more lively.
For some beings, their lifespans are just too long.
The endless years become unbearably dull, making them constantly seek out new and interesting things to do.
Without a doubt, Talot, Salari, and Raditz became Grand Kai's entertainment to fend off boredom.
"Let's go. We'll head back to the North Area's encampment here on Grand Kai's Planet. For the time being, you can stay and train on Grand Kai's Planet," North Kai led the way, with Talot and the other two following behind him.
They had just arrived and knew very little about Grand Kai's Planet.
Now that they had met Grand Kai, the next step was naturally to follow North Kai's guidance.
After all, this planet truly did house many powerful beings. If anything unexpected were to happen, it would definitely affect them as well.
They made their way back to the North Area's sector, where all the warriors from the North Area had already assembled.
North Kai hadn't been to Grand Kai's Planet in many years. His sudden arrival this time, bringing three unfamiliar faces, naturally drew everyone's attention.
Among them, of course, was Olibu, a prominent warrior of the North Area that Talot was familiar with.
There were also others who looked familiar, though their names were hard to recall, perhaps even the original work never mentioned their names.
In any case, he didn't know before, but now he does.
At the very least, using Ki Sense to gauge, every warrior from the North Area was incredibly powerful.
A power level of several hundred thousand only put you at the bottom. A million power level was just average. Tens of millions were not uncommon…
As for Olibu, his power level was clearly in the hundred million!
In the original work, he had this level of strength while competing with Pikkon and Goku.
With North Kai making the introductions, Talot, Salari, and Raditz were finally, in the true sense of the word, acquainted with all the warriors here.
However, confrontation was inevitable.
Newcomers arriving—still alive, no less—was more than enough to stir jealousy among all the dead.
That was the first reason. The second was that whenever newcomers were brought here, they usually had to demonstrate their skills in order to earn the respect of the warriors already present.
As the saying goes, dignity is earned, not given.
No one here is simply a good person, and no one shows kindness to others without a reason.
Even in the world of the dead, life on Grand Kai's Planet was especially harsh.
You could say the competition is intense and ruthless; everyone wants to stand out, everyone wants to be put in an important position.
Only then can they prove their existence has meaning, and avoid being discarded one day in the future...
North Kai was, of course, well-versed in these unspoken rules.
He watched as Talot, Salari, and Raditz faced off the veterans from the past, a shrewd glint flashing in his eyes.
"If you want to spar, feel free. Whether you're new or old, you're all outstanding warriors of the North Area. But let me be clear: no fight-to-death is allowed. No malicious retaliation, ganging up on others, or sneak attacks either."
As his words fell, Talot, Salari, and Raditz exchanged glances, while the veteran warriors from the past were already beginning to stir with excitement.
Many among the powerful were already eager to step forward—this was, without a doubt, a perfect opportunity to showcase the fruits of their training.
The current situation was quite similar to when Goku had first arrived.
But this time, the conflict was more direct, and it was all orchestrated by North Kai.
Since Talot had said that Raditz and Salari couldn't transform due to a lack of combat experience, then let them fight hard.
The same went for Talot; he had lacked opponents before, but now there were plenty to go around.
And if things escalated far enough, perhaps Grand Kai himself would take notice and personally guide Talot and the others in their training.
"So what you're saying is, as long as we don't fight to the death, we're free to fight anyone here?!" Raditz was the first to rub his knuckles in anticipation.
The atmosphere felt off, hostility and fighting intent radiating from all around. Infected by it, his eyes immediately burned with intense flames of battle intent, his eager demeanor making him appear cold and aloof.
Upon hearing Raditz's words, a tall and burly wolf-headed beastman, standing at least three meters high, stepped forward from the crowd and came to stand in front of Raditz.
With him stepping out, the others all quieted down.
Clearly, everyone intended to watch this first match play out before making their moves.
"This is one of the North Area's most outstanding warriors, the beastman Mijorin from the Planet Yalata," North Kai said as a reminder, before deliberately stepping aside.
That kind of move, without question, was tacit approval.
Talot said nothing, while Salari kept shooting Raditz meaningful looks, as if trying to signal something.
"It's best for newcomers not to be too arrogant! If you come here and don't change your ways… wait, you're still alive! But I'll still remind you, this place is nothing like the planet you came from!" Mijorin's voice was rough and booming.
As he finished speaking, he grinned, revealing two rows of gleaming, razor-sharp wolf fangs.
Mijorin's smile was full of primal wildness, and combined with his fierce and muscular physique, he certainly outmatched anyone with a more ordinary appearance in sheer presence.
However, while he looked strong, a being's true power isn't something that can be judged by size alone.
"Hearing you talk, you'd think you were something special. But I bet there are plenty of people here stronger than you. You haven't even made a name for yourself, and you think you're qualified to lecture me? You're not! Unless… you can beat me!" Raditz's words were direct and carried an undeniable air of intimidation.
That had always been his personality; forceful, unwilling to back down easily.
Even back when he was defeated by Talot or Salari, he'd still act defiant, trying to preserve some pride with his words.
"Hmph! If you're so eager to embarrass yourself, then I, the werewolf Mijorin, will show you just how powerful the people here on Grand Kai's Planet are, far beyond what a newcomer like you can imagine." As Mijorin spoke, he pointed toward a nearby arena.
Naturally, Raditz wasn't about to refuse. With a supremely confident smirk at the corner of his mouth, he followed Mijorin toward the arena.
"Ohohoho~~! Looks like we're in for a good show. Let's go, Talot, Salari…" As the two walked off, a mysterious smile spread across North Kai's face.
