Chapter 388 - Chapter 388: Seraphim vs. Pacifista

S-Bear seemed to sense something and turned his head just as three blinding golden beams shot toward him.

Boom!

A violent explosion erupted, blasting a massive hole in the laboratory doors. At the last moment, Caesar activated his intangibility, barely dodging the laser bombardment, while S-Bear had already vanished without a trace.

The three Pacifistas lost their target and began scanning their surroundings. Just then, S-Bear suddenly appeared behind one of them, slamming his palm onto its head.

Crack!

The Pacifista's head exploded, mechanical components and an unknown liquid scattering everywhere. The remaining two immediately turned and threw their massive fists toward S-Bear.

He was sent flying, crashing into the wall. However, as if nothing had happened, he slowly got up, flames flickering at the back of his neck.

Vegapunk's expression darkened.

"This is bad... The Lunarian defense is too strong! The Pacifistas can't break through!"

York, the embodiment of greed, complained,

"This is your fault! We're all going to die now!"

Atlas glared at York, angrily retorting,

"What's the point of saying that now? Think of a way to stop S-Bear!"

Pythagoras spoke up,

"We should contact the World Government immediately and request reinforcements to suppress him!"

Lilith shook her head.

"No, we should inform the Marines instead. I mean, contact him. With his speed, he can be here in an instant. Don't you agree?"

She turned to Vegapunk, who was already pulling out his Den Den Mushi—but just then, something unexpected happened.

The Pacifista that had its head blown off didn't shut down. Instead, it entered a berserk state, electricity crackling all over its body.

The other two Pacifistas charged at S-Bear again, while the malfunctioning one began spinning wildly, golden energy gathering at its severed neck.

It suddenly unleashed a golden laser, sweeping across the lab. Fortunately, Vegapunk's clones reacted quickly—Shaka tackled Vegapunk to the ground, while the others hit the floor just as the beam passed over them.

The Den Den Mushi flew from Vegapunk's hands. The berserk Pacifista continued firing indiscriminately, launching a barrage of lasers in all directions.

With the lab in chaos, the scientists had no time to recover the Den Den Mushi. Shaka grabbed Vegapunk and ran for the exit, with the other clones following closely. As they reached the door, Pythagoras even managed to pick up an unconscious Caesar.

Inside the lab, the two remaining Pacifistas fired lasers at S-Bear. However, he responded in kind, opening his mouth and releasing his own laser attack.

S-Bear's laser was far more powerful, forcing the Pacifistas to evade. His beam struck the malfunctioning Pacifista, reducing it to a pile of scrap metal.

The other two showed no reaction to their comrade's destruction and continued attacking.

Irritation flashed across S-Bear's face. His black wings quivered slightly before he shot forward like a cannonball. His Haki-coated fists clashed against the Pacifistas' blows.

For a brief moment, they were locked in a deadlock—until S-Bear's punches crushed their fists, forcing their arms into their bulky frames.

The Pacifistas felt no pain. Even missing a hand, they simply raised their remaining fists and continued their assault.

S-Bear lightly tapped the ground, vanishing in an instant. He reappeared some distance away, bringing his palms together in front of his chest.

Beneath the sleeve of his right arm, a transparent chamber filled with green liquid was visible, connected directly to his arm. The liquid bubbled as he moved.

Between his palms, a small, bear-shaped air bubble materialized.

A deep humming sound resonated as the surrounding air was compressed into the bubble, causing it to expand. Finally, he pressed it down, condensing it to the size of his palm.

Despite its adorable appearance, it held terrifying destructive power.

The Pacifistas didn't hesitate. They charged straight at S-Bear.

The bubble slowly drifted forward before suddenly accelerating, slamming between the Pacifistas.

BOOM!

A blinding white explosion engulfed the entire area, sending a powerful shockwave outward. The Pacifistas were swallowed whole.

Outside the research facility, Vegapunk and his team had barely escaped when they heard a deafening roar. A massive, bear-shaped shockwave expanded, engulfing the lab.

Everyone watched in horror as the roof of the facility was blasted off. Given how durable the lab was, if it had been built from ordinary materials, the entire structure would have been obliterated.

Before anyone could react, heavy footsteps echoed from the smoky ruins.

A dark silhouette emerged from the shadows.

Everyone instinctively gulped and took a step back.

Moments later, S-Bear walked out, dragging the mangled torso of a Pacifista behind him, sparks flickering from its ruined body.

A cold sweat formed on Vegapunk's forehead.

"He... he took down the Pacifistas so quickly..."

York, the embodiment of greed, trembled in panic.

"This is bad! I haven't even experienced the joys! I don't want to die!"

Lilith, the evil one, and Atlas, the violence one, drew their weapons, while the other clones shielded Vegapunk.

A chilling light flashed in S-Bear's eyes as his mouth opened, golden energy gathering once more.

Everyone's hearts leapt into their throats. They knew they couldn't withstand a laser attack from a Seraphim.

At that crucial moment, a black shadow suddenly descended in front of S-Bear, just as he fired.

When the smoke cleared, S-Bear was on the ground, his lips scorched black.

But nobody paid attention to him. Their eyes were fixed on the towering figure standing before him.

The man's jet-black wings confirmed his identity.

Vegapunk and his six clones all cried out in unison:

"Saint Carl!"
