As Cassiel and Albus head off towards Altanisar after their minor distraction, reconstruction in Kotor was well underway. Daein worked day in and day out to fix everything back to how it had once been, starting with the walls protecting the capital city.
In the two days Cassiel has been gone so far, all three city gates have been fully repaired, and most of the walls have been rebuilt from the ground up— using materials they had gathered and salvaged from the closest lumber yards and quarries.
One of the main reasons Kotor was selected as the capital of Rampiel, was due to the abundance of resources that were available in the surrounding areas.. Over the years the city has stood proud, the mines, quarries, fishing grounds, logging areas, and more, had been set up in the resource rich location, allowing the rebuilding of Kotor to proceed far more smoothly compared to cities like Ananchel.
While Kotor's walls were nearly complete, the situation in Ananchel was not going nearly as well. The new city lord, Afriel Aliatroc, struggled desperately with reconstruction efforts, particularly with the walls, as most of the soldiers formerly commanded by Daein were not so easily won over, since they had still missed their previous lord.
Despite being lenient and easygoing, Afriel only had a small twenty percent of the army fully loyal to him. The rest of the soldiers worked half heartedly, paying little heed to his orders.
With most of the soldiers only working on repairing and cleaning up the once beautifully paved field outside Ananchel's front gate, the rest of the soldiers struggled to work on the wall repairs with such a small amount of them really trying, leaving most of them worn out by every day's end.
