Shun calmly looked at Kohei on the mound before climbing the dugout steps and walking toward the on-deck circle. It was the problem child's, Ryosuke Sugano's, first chance at the plate, and with two outs, he needed to reach base so Shun could get his chance this inning.

"Strike!" - The umpire announced the first strike of the matchup after Ryosuke failed to make contact with a high fastball.
"Tch!" - Ryosuke took a step back after seeing Kohei's monstrous fastball. As talented as Ryosuke was, Kohei's level was still a little too much for a player in his first year of middle school, and Ryosuke only needed to see one pitch to understand that.
