Morning sickness today was way worse than yesterday. I woke up already feeling like my stomach was trying to flip inside out. I shot out of bed, hand over my mouth, and barely reached the toilet before I was gagging so hard my eyes watered and my whole body shook.
Nothing came up again but the dry heaves kept coming, wave after wave, until tears ran down my face and my throat felt raw.
I slid down to the floor, gripping the toilet edge, gasping. “Why is this happening to me?” I whispered. “I can’t keep doing this…”
Kaden burst in. “Amelia, shit, baby..”
He dropped next to me in a heartbeat, one arm wrapping around my shoulders to hold me steady, the other gently pulling my hair back. “Hey, hey, I’m right here. Lean on me. Let it out.”
Another heave hit and I curled forward, sobbing between the retching. “It won’t stop… it’s killing me…”
