I couldn’t stop shaking even after Kaden carried me inside and locked the door. My legs stayed locked around his waist like letting go would mean falling apart completely.
His hands were firm on my ass, holding me up, and I buried my face in his neck, breathing him in. I needed him closer. Needed him to erase the cold echo of Blake’s voice still rattling in my skull.
“Kaden…” My voice cracked against his skin. “Please. I need you.”
He froze for half a second, then his grip tightened. “Tell me what you need, baby.”
I lifted my head just enough to meet his eyes. They were dark, pupils blown wide. “I need to feel you. Inside me. Please. Make it go away, just for a little while.”
A low growl rumbled in his chest. He didn’t say anything else. Just strode up the stairs, boots thudding, and kicked the bedroom door open.
He set me down on the edge of the mattress gently, but his hands were shaking too with want.
