Chapter 13 - 13:Future Plans

Waking up at the crack of dawn, Raymond got up from his hotel bed and grabbed his staff. Casting a few privacy spells here and there, he quietly uttered the words.

"System unseal."

When Raymond first turned back time, it had been January 1st, 2065. Right now it was January 11th 2069. So the timing left of his status seemed to be correct.

He was more excited over something else however. He had already felt it after finishing the inheritance grounds but seeing it with his own eyes made him feel giddy.

The part about reducing race bonuses was gone!

Race:

Perfect Human

-You have reached the pinnacle of human evolution, all humans in the world will look up to you as the peak they aspire to become. You are the perfect human.

-All stats effectiveness 2.5 times multiplier

-Massivelyincreased mana absorption, mana purity, mana efficiency, mana sense and mana control.

-Gain an extremely small permanent resistance after encountering anything that may cause danger or harm to the perfect human.

---

Opening up the part about his race Raymond confirmed it once again. He had all of his bonuses from his race again! Fully this time, compared to when it was merely 50% the difference was like night and day. It seemed as if the system had finally rewarded him for his four years spent in this world so far.

Although it was a bit unexpected that the first status debuff to be rid off was the one about his race, Raymond had no complains here! Feeling his own increased strength return to him was like seeing ones wife again after being on a long business trip

"How I've missed you so much!"

Having the system opened also let him gauge how much of his stats had returned rather then having to just estimate based on his mana reserves. Looking through everything else, he found them to be unchanged as usual. his level was still stuck at 952 since he hadn't killed any high level monsters or researched any new magic in a while.

Sealing the system once more, he danced around on the spot for a bit. Something like this was just too good to not celebrate a little bit.

He canceled all of the privacy spells he had set up and sat down at the edge of the bed, grinning evilly.

Today would be the day of the entrance exam for the Academy for Heroes. Although both Raymond and Ellen were already guaranteed a spot in the academy. This entrance exam would determine which class and what resources they would have access to.

In the past, Ellen was part of class A before managing to rise and join the special class S. Now however, she aimed to get into special class S from the start and Raymond was naturally expected to follow her.

Not that he minded, they both already knew the contents of the exam and with their current strength right now they could blow everyone else out of the water.

He rolled around in his bed, unable to fall asleep due to his excitement from recovering his full race bonuses. In the end, he spent the next 8 hours or so wide awake.

As the time for the exam soon approached, he felt a knock on his hotel room. Instantly standing up, he looked at himself in the mirror again and after making sure he looked alright, opened the door.

Standing there was Ellen, the Kairos bow slung on her back. A quiver of arrows on her waist with a particularly larger purple arrow standing out among the relatively normal looking arrows. Wearing light attire, Raymond could almost see the World Crossing Arrow right in front of his eyes already.

She raised an eyebrow at how fast he got ready.

"You got ready faster then i thought. It wont begin for another two hours or so so i was planning on asking whether you wanted to bring you some breakfast."

"No need, ill go with you."

As the two of them left the restaurant. They felt many people staring at them, likely due to their young ages and the attire they wore.

Finding a random restaurant, the two of them walked in and sat down. After ordering a breakfast set of waffles for the both of them. They stared at each other in silence for a bit before eventually Raymond broke the awkward silence.

"Aren't you gonna disguise the Kairos bow? Killian may have been active a long time ago but his weapon is still pretty recognizable especially at the academy."

"That's the point, i want them to know I've gotten Killian's inheritance in order for them to put me into the special class. If i just tried normally i might not be able to make it in."

Raymond nodded in understanding, doing it this way would give Ellen an extra blanket of security in case she was unable to make it to the special class by just normally passing the exam.

"I don't need to explain what our strategy for the entrance exam is again do I?"

"Of course not, rather then that. Shouldn't we be focusing on finding Zachary as soon as possible and letting him grow stronger as fast as possible as well?"

They had gone over the exam strategy numerous times yesterday. Starting with the writing exam which was easy work for the two of them, plus they already knew what was coming out. They were practically guaranteed to get nearly full marks as long as the marker wasn't a douchebag.

They would then get their awakening potential tested to make sure there was no foul play when it was initially being recorded because every year some idiot decides to try lying about their awakening potential score in order to get into the academy.

Afterwards would be the exciting part. A battle royale! Held in the academy's arena. All 400 something candidates would be dropped into an unknown terrain and battle each other as a ring slowly closed in on the arena until there was only 1 survivor left. With the timing of your elimination determining your placement in the year.

Naturally, Raymond and Ellen knew full well what the unknown terrain was. As long as there was no unexpected butterfly changes which was unlikely since they both hadn't done anything too outrageous to the timeline yet.

"Zachary is important but not right now, against Him. He barely lasted a few hours and that was mainly because He was just playing with us. I'd rather rely on my own strength to save everyone rather then trying to juice up Zachary. Besides, I cant do much for Zachary currently anyways."

She paused a bit before adding the last sentence.

Digging into his waffles which had just arrived, he paused after a few bites in order to continue their conversation.

"Is this because i mentioned those monsters coming to attack us as punishment that you're doing all this to get stronger? If so then you don't really need to worry that much. They're strong sure but you could probably take them on at your peak strength before."

"That is part of the reason but its also because i just want to get stronger then Zachary and Noelle. Previously those two were always stronger or better then me in everything."

He coughed a little, for someone who was so dedicated to saving the world. Such an answer was very different from what he expected to hear. He expected to hear something like—because its my duty as the only survivor or because i must do it to avenge them.

A selfish answer like that completely took him out of left field.

As they discussed their plans for the future a bit more, a massive bell soon rang throughout the capital. Checking the time, Ellen stood up and paid for their meal.

"One hour left, lets go."

Standing up as well. He picked up his staff and quickly casted a basic teleport on the two of them. As he felt his mana reserves drain only slightly, he smiled to himself. Having the full racial bonuses was really damn helpful!

Opening their eyes, both Raymond and Ellen saw the main academy doors right in front of them. The nostalgic sight of the academy made Raymond feel a slight pang of melancholy.

Pushing the wide double doors open, they were met with the sight of a massive hall filled with other academy candidates. Immediately hundreds of gazes landed upon the two of them, with Raymond even recognizing a few of the faces.

As the double doors closed behind them, the crowd having gotten their fill went back to what they were doing. With nearly 500 candidates trying to enter the academy each year only around 400 would make the cut. There was more important things to do then ogle at everybody who came in considering a solid amount wouldn't even be able to enter the academy.

Except for a few very stupid boys with brains that would make you question whether they were dropped as a baby.

His boots thumped upon the marble flooring. Troy Depont ,strolling towards them with both of his chins up in the air and a gait that could come only from having your ass wiped for you until now.

This guy was the stereotypical arrogant young master. Because every novel needed one in order for the protagonist to humiliate in front of everybody.

Strolling up towards Ellen with a gang of his irrelevant cronies behind him. He bowed as much as his stomach would let him and held a hand out.

His voice sounded as if he purposefully tried to talk as deep as possible. But in the end, he just sounded like he was rumbling his throat.

"Greetings my beautiful lady. My name is Troy Depont from the Depont family. I was talking with my friends when i noticed your extraordinary looks and wished to introduce myself, may i have the pleasure of knowing your name?"

Raymond sighed, while he had already expected something like this to happen. To think that he would have to start acting so soon, he hadn't even been in the academy for more then 5 minutes!

They had literally just walked in why were they being harassed already!

Taking a deep breath to help cool his nerves. He stepped forwards so he was in between Ellen and Troy, returning the bow only slightly and as politely as possible responded.

"I apologize Mr. Depont but master is currently not interested in any talks right now. She has had a long journey and is feeling extremely fatigued right now."

He had spoken as politely as he could and his words were specially scripted to try to make him get the hint he wasn't wanted but unfortunately.

"Who the f*ck are you to talk to me like that?!"
