The piano keys answered to her light touch, singing in perfect symphony as she danced her fingers over them. The melody excited her and for the greatest of moments, she allowed herself to float in the beauty of it. Music had always held great importance to her. It brought her away from all else into a place that belonged to her alone.
Gwen sat easily before the piano rejoicing her soul in the music sheet before her, an old gift from her husband.

She smiled.
Years ago, the thought would have been laughable to think Alexander her husband, and a transgression to call him so. But he was the light of her life and she could do naught but love him even more daily.
Paula stood faithfully at her side, turning the sheet at her subtle nods. She continued playing, enjoying herself thoroughly as she had not in a long while.
