Chapter 472 - Chapter 472: "I Think You’re More Suited for the Imperial Fists"

Boom—Crash—!!

The deafening roar of boltgun fire erupted within the warehouse, followed immediately by an overwhelming force ripping through its ceiling.

Metal panels and beams were torn away, scattering shards like a torrential storm.

In the wake of this destructive force, a colossal figure descended from above, clad in a silver-painted Terminator armor designated as the "Aegis." His massive frame landed with a ground-shaking impact, exuding a suffocating sense of dominance.

Splat—Squelch—!!

The giant's landing caused the floor beneath him to crack and burst apart in a cry of agony. Those too slow to react were crushed into grotesque, bloody fragments under his weight.

Blood and dismembered body parts mixed with dust and shards of metal, creating a nightmarish scene.

Meanwhile, the boltgun mounted on the giant's arm roared again.

Bang! Bang, bang!!

Amidst the piercing whistling of bolts tearing through the air, precise shots struck down those attempting to approach.

The explosions generated intense heat and shockwaves that ripped their bodies into countless pieces. Blood mist and the stench of burnt flesh quickly filled the air.

"It's the Grey Knights!"

"Run!!"

"We're doomed!"

"My lord!!"

The twisted revelers who moments ago were indulging in their grotesque celebration broke into a cacophony of terrified screams.

Their disguises and fervor shattered completely, replaced entirely by fear.

Though they had long fallen into corruption as warp demons or heretical cultists, their behavior was laughably pitiful now, resembling common cowards more than fanatics.

Some heretics attempted to summon the power of the Warp to escape, but the giant gave them no chance.

Each of his steps was a death sentence, emanating an unassailable aura of authority.

This was no ordinary Astartes. He was bred for the sole purpose of hunting demons:

A Grey Knight.

Clad in Terminator armor bearing the Aegis designation, the Grey Knight was like a moving fortress, advancing with an unstoppable will to destroy.

In the warehouse, those once fearless and boastful madmen were now scattering in all directions, desperately trying to flee from the "warrior of judgment."

"Impossible..."

The "woman" clutching onto Chirak Orin with one hand was visibly shaken. The sight of the Grey Knight's sudden arrival was something she could not comprehend.

Her once-proud and confident face now brimmed with astonishment. She muttered in disbelief:

"This can't be... My lord's plan was flawless. There was no room for error. How could this have happened?"

Her tone was laced with shock and confusion, as though her shattered faith had left her utterly helpless.

Chirak, whom she had in her grasp, was no less stunned by the scene before him. Yet his shock quickly gave way to hope and euphoria.

He ignored the danger of his situation and instead burst into unrestrained laughter, his tone brimming with unfiltered delight:

"Why?! Hahaha! Isn't it obvious? It's because your so-called master is incompetent! All that scheming, corruption, and sabotage, thinking you were operating in secret, while all along you were under the watchful eye of the Imperium! Hahaha! It's utterly ridiculous!"

Chirak's scorn stabbed into the woman's expression, her face darkening with humiliation. Panic and resentment flickered in her eyes, but before she could retort—

Boom—Boom—!!

From the depths of the warehouse, thunderous explosions erupted, their shockwaves mingling with bursts of fire. The metal structure of the warehouse twisted and warped under the immense heat and force.

Thud, thud!

Then, three more Grey Knights strode into the warehouse with steady, imposing steps.

They were fully armed, their armor inscribed with the sacred sigils and purity seals of the Imperium. Small ribbons fluttered with every motion, bearing inscriptions of "purity."

With their boltguns, force halberds, and force glaives gleaming in the fiery light, the knights exuded an air of divine majesty, as though gods themselves had descended.

Yet their actions were anything but slow. These warriors moved with astonishing speed.

The four Grey Knights stormed through the warehouse like a tempest, their movements too swift for mortal eyes to follow, mercilessly slaughtering the remaining heretics.

Every bolt fired brought a spray of blood and the wails of demons; every swing of their halberds and glaives cleaved through corrupted flesh and unholy energy shields, reducing heretics to burning ash.

The warehouse had become a grim battlefield of judgment, with the sole verdict being the annihilation of all Chaos.

"Shut up!"

The "woman" snapped back to reality at Chirak's mocking words, her patience snapping. How dare this mere boy insult her god!

Her facade shattered instantly, revealing her grotesque true form—

Her once flawless skin cracked visibly, revealing purple scales with a metallic sheen beneath.

Her beautiful face contorted grotesquely; her nose flattened, her mouth stretched into a gaping maw lined with razor-sharp teeth dripping with viscous saliva.

Her eyes expanded, pupils narrowing into reptilian slits. Her tongue forked like a serpent's, flickering in the air with a foul stench.

Her legs began to fuse, transforming into a thick, powerful tail. Her entire body swelled, tearing apart her once elegant dress and exposing a grotesquely deformed figure.

Within seconds, the woman had fully transformed into a massive, serpentine creature.

"***! You ugly snake hag! Let me go! ***! I'm glad I didn't go with you; I don't want to lose my ***!!"

Even while the monstrous woman gripped his head in her claws, Chirak didn't cower. Instead, his voice grew louder, unleashing a torrent of expletives that drowned out the surrounding chaos.

His vulgar tirade wasn't merely a venting of fear—it was a deliberate act to draw the attention of the Grey Knights.

As Chirak screamed and struggled, his elbows struck against the woman's claws, creating as much noise as possible. Though his resistance seemed futile, it was his only hope of survival.

"You dare offend me, you insignificant mortal!!"

The snake demon roared, its massive tail whipping through the air with a deafening crack, intent on clearing any obstacles.

But before it could follow through, a silver-clad figure was already closing in. The roaring of a boltgun and the hum of a force blade signaled the arrival of judgment.

Bang—Bang—!!

Explosive bolts tore through the air, streaking toward the snake demon's hideous head like fiery harbingers of death.

The bolts' glowing tips gleamed like messengers of the Emperor's wrath, ready to toll the heretic's death knell.

Moments before impact, a low hum echoed through the air—

Buzz—!!

An invisible psychic barrier formed before the snake demon, a translucent shield halting the devastating projectiles in their tracks.

Boom—Boom—!

The bolts detonated against the shield, their explosive force causing ripples of psychic energy to distort the surrounding air.

Crack—Hiss—!

The psychic barrier fractured under the onslaught, shattering like glass. The lingering psychic energy began corroding the snake demon's scales, causing wisps of smoke to rise alongside a pungent stench.

"SSSssssss!!!"

The soul-searing pain elicited an enraged, anguished shriek from the snake demon.

Its reptilian pupils contracted in agony, and its body trembled as it was forced to release Chirak from its grasp.

Thud!

Chirak fell heavily to the ground, his face pale with pain.

Ignoring his discomfort, he scrambled away, knowing full well that the center of this battle was no place for him.

He didn't want to hinder the Grey Knights, nor did he wish to be collateral damage in their fight.

"Die, you wretched abomination!"

Thud, thud!!

A Grey Knight roared, his voice resonating like a war drum, imbued with an undeniable authority.

Wielding his force halberd with blinding speed, his silver armor gleamed in the dim light as he lunged toward the snake demon's vital points.

However, just before the halberd struck its target—

"SSSssssss!!"

The snake demon let out a desperate hiss, enduring the psychic corrosion that left its scales in tatters. Its tail, spiked with bony protrusions, lashed out like a massive flail.

Whoosh—!

The tail's rapid sweep created a piercing whistle as it struck the Grey Knight with tremendous force, interrupting his attack.

Despite the interruption, the demon chose not to capitalize on the moment. Instead, it turned and fled, dragging its wounded body in a frantic bid for survival.

The snake demon knew it stood no chance against the Grey Knights, especially with four of them present.

The outcome was predetermined. Prolonging the fight would only hasten its demise.

"Where do you think you're going, scum?!"

Just as it sought an escape, a low, chilling voice rang out from the side, brimming with unrelenting killing intent.

Another Grey Knight blocked its path, raising his force glaive high. The blade crackled with psychic energy, emitting a faint hum like the prelude to a funeral dirge.

Squelch—Thud—!

The snake demon failed to evade in time. The blade pierced its body, unleashing a torrent of black-purple blood.

"AAAHHHH!!"

The psychic surge coursing through the glaive elicited a tortured scream as the demon convulsed violently.

With a flick of his wrist, the Grey Knight hurled the demon skyward, its flailing form illuminated by silver light.

It struggled, but a massive, silver hand clamped down on its head.

"It's over."

The Grey Knight's left hand glowed with runes of psychic power, channeling pure energy into the demon's form.

"No—No!!"

The snake demon's distorted body stiffened as the purifying energy overwhelmed it. Its screams of pain and defiance faded as it succumbed entirely, now a lifeless husk.

The Grey Knight then retrieved a large, foldable "metal case" from his waist and placed it before his comrades.

The case was intricately engraved with sigils and purity seals, resembling a finely crafted tactical device.

The lifeless demon was forcibly stuffed into the case, temporarily "sealed."

Though it struggled fiercely before its containment, the demon's power was insignificant compared to the Grey Knights.

Its cries of pain echoed from within the case, filled with terror and rage, as though aware of the fate awaiting it—something far worse than death.

"..."

Chirak, observing the entire scene, was overcome with indescribable emotions.

The Grey Knights' strength and efficiency left him in awe. He now fully understood the overwhelming might of these warriors, far surpassing even ordinary Astartes.

Their dominance extended beyond physical power. Their very presence oppressed the soul, rendering resistance futile. Each of their movements embodied the inescapable judgment of death.

To Chirak's eyes, it was almost as if the snake demon had vanished into the case in an instant, as though it had never existed.

The case stood silently, like a silver monument of sealed power, exuding an unsettling stillness.

"Kid."

The Grey Knight who had skewered and contained the demon approached Chirak, his metallic voice carrying a faint hint of humor:

"With your skill at hurling insults, the Sons of Humanity will definitely reject you. Honestly, I think you'd be better off joining the Imperial Fists."
