Chapter 21 - Chapter 21

After dealing with showing around Reva for a while Page excused herself from his presence. Something Cami waved goodbye to as she left them both behind.

"Where is she going" Reva asked her

"She always leaves around this time as it's just what she does" Cami informed him.

Reva then noticed the time that was present in his own internal clock that had been set to let him know what time it was currently as that was something he saw in this small city that there were no clocks anywhere. Yet everyone seemed to always know what time it was without needing to ask for it. All robots had their own internal clocks that were all set to the same time. Thus they did not need things like external ones when they could just think about what time it was and then it would be shown to them at a moment's notice.

However, it was interesting how even with an internal clock that allowed everyone to always know what time it was. There were still people who were late for things and other things would sometimes be forgotten as they allowed too much time to go by without noticing how it happened. It was something that was going to take some getting used to at least on Reva's end. As while everyone else who was roboticized was instantly made to adjust to this new perspective that they had now as a result of their programming. Reva was not the same as even amongst the Guardians he was different because he retained his memories of past cycles and his failures to escape from them. So he retained his original perspective though even that was not the same as a normal Guardian/Hero as he did cycle between both giving what his kind were after all.

Page currently was meeting up with Carter who was already on his way to her destination as well.

"Hey Crater you never guess what happened today," Page said excitedly.

"Oh, really what happened" he asked curious.

"The Lord has finally come online and is now going around the city," she said excitedly.

"So he finally is for real this time. Took him long enough to do so" her friend said

"What are you talking about this is the first time he has been online since the beginning," she told him.

Carter then wondered sometimes just how much Page really consciously knew about the situation they were in currently. Neither one of them was loyal to Reva because he was the Southern Guardian alone. Page willingly chose to serve under him and Crater was just along for the ride as long Page and his mom were not messed with (who was not under Reva either but actually under him).

"So what do you think it will be this time" she asked him.

"Not sure as there are a number of things she could do there just something I hope she does not though," Carter said.

Their destination was his home where the two of them lived with his mom. There they entered the house and a smell that was only coming from their own home was present throughout the building. It was the smell of a home cooked meal as the only two robots in this entire small city that still ate and drank food normally were both Page and Crater. Page did not see this as anything weird and Carter just did not care at all as what bothered him was not this fact but something else instead that was related to it.

That being that his mom though she could no longer eat or drink herself was still capable of cooking for the two of them. She had taken up cooking as one of her main hobbies since her roboticization. Improving and refined her skills over the years as she cooked for her son and his friend while they could eat and drink. This did not mean they needed to as often as when they were still human but still did so rather often though

There in the living room area holding two plates in her hands while wearing an apron. Something only she did when it came to those who cooked as a hobby was Carter's mom. She stood there seemingly offline as her eyes were grey as she just stood there like a display model with the food in her hands.

"Carter! Page! Welcome home as I have your meals already done and prepared for you as usual" she said once the two of them got close enough to them.

Walking over to the living room table she then placed them down on it. Carter then went to sit down and he asked his mother about what she was doing before they got there.

"I was cooking of course as I always do that for the two of you around this time. I just decided to take a quick nap before you got home" she told him.

"Is that really what happened?" her son asked him

"Of course, it was as I am not that unskilled at cooking anymore that I would keep trying until I run out of power like before" she replied "I have learned that lesson already"

Though they were all robots and have been going on for years and years now. Sleep and naps were still things they did but the context of the words had changed for them from what they originally were and meant from the time when they all still had their humanity and human view of things. Sleep was when they were recharging their power for a prolonged period. Saying that going to recharge their battery was not figurative anymore but very literal in their case now as robots. While naps were just something they could do on the fly whenever they wanted and were not doing anything that warranted them being fully alert or functioning for the time being(basically they have built in sleep mode feature).
