Firecrackers sounded once more as the sedan chair was lowered amidst the noise. An Zhichen took a bow and arrow and shot three symbolic arrows at the sedan chair.
With the help of the Wedding Matron, Yueyao got out of the sedan, holding a large red silk that was handed to her, while An Zhichen led the way. The red carpet was spread from the outside all the way to the wedding hall.
The sound of firecrackers outside was too loud, causing Yueyao's ears to buzz. Following the Wedding Matron's guidance, she managed to complete the ceremony without incident.
The rites were over, and at the sound of the master of ceremonies' "Lead to the bridal chamber," Yueyao knew that all the rituals had been completed. She breathed a sigh of relief, thankful that it was finally over, as she couldn't have endured it much longer.
