Tong Ran furrowed her brows, what he said indeed made sense. In a forest where the strong prey on the weak, being soft-hearted was of no use. She carefully extended her hand, "So, should we roast it to eat?"
Mo Nanjue glanced around, "Hold onto it for now, we might be able to use it as bait."
"Okay."
Tong Ran carried the rabbit by its ears. The soft fur tickled her palm, and it was evident the rabbit wasn't dead yet. One of its unharmed legs kicked out wildly. Mo Nanjue straightened up, "Let's go."
The man led the way, and Tong Ran followed at a slow pace. She looked down at the still lively creature in her hand. The little rabbit's eyes swivelled back at her, seemingly pleading.
Her heart softened briefly. Taking advantage of the man's inattention, she bent down and placed it on the leaf-strewn, branch-covered ground.
