Chapter 40 - Small Revelations 7 - Heavenly Combat with the Primordial Spectra 3

Several of the Primordial Spectra left the dimension cracks they appeared from and instantly headed straight towards the nearby planet, instead of in the direction of Magus or any of his group.

Echo shifted the attention of the record in their direction, causing Norvin to narrow his eyes at the quickly descending beings in interest.

Two meteors, one red and one a fluctuating purple and white, raced towards their objective, to squash the remaining interlopers that arrived with the five powerful supers, as far as these Primordial Spectra were concerned, all of them were guilty by association.

The red streak raced ahead of its companion. Known as the 'Inferno Condenser,' this Primordial Spectra was a terrifying, fiery, beast-like being of pure, concentrated flame, constantly flickering before erupting in violent red bursts—a true, living firestorm.

Its form was more or less, a massive fire-dog. It had an equally fiery mane, just like one a lion would have, swirling with solid flames that flowed and collapsed in an unpredictable dance.

A closer inspection would have revealed countless tiny particles of glowing ember like energy, each contributing to the tumultuous, fiery mass of this fire beast.

At its center, where the energy was densest, lay a shining, intense, fiery core, the gems outer edges swayed and danced like silk in a gale of heat as if it was soft fur.

Surrounding its body, smaller clusters of red flames—its offspring—or maybe minions, danced and swirled, acting as its loyal sub-entities, created from remnants of the primordial power it was spraying around everywhere.

This particular Primordial Spectra had a habit of never leaving its condensed combat form, always looking like a majestic, cosmic beast on fire.

Norvin, who had been watching the entire spectacle with growing excitement, focused on the flaming Primordial Spectra. He suddenly stood up and pointed at the screen while shouting, "Arcanine! What!?"

Echo stopped the playback of the records and looked over at Norvin, casually waving a black-and-white arm belonging to 'Radiant Black' from Image Comics. With a dismissive tone, Echo remarked, "Yeah, yeah... it looks like one of those 'Pocket Monsters' you're always going on about during our hunts. Don't be too shocked, kid—Earthlings are pretty good at creating fiction that reflects a lot of real stuff out there."

There had been many occasions during the last couple months where Norvin and Echo had run across several colorful creatures, always causing Norvin to make the same jokes or repeated phrases involving Pokémon.

"I want to be the very best, like no one ever was!" was a pretty standard line he uttered at almost every encounter in the garden lately, often adding how shameful it was that he had no 'ultra balls' with him, while declaring his desire to "Eat 'em all".

"I wonder who's going to make a cameo next?" Norvin glanced between the paused video and Echo, now transformed into 'Kamen Rider Absolute Decade.' Norvin grinned, giving the shining, sleek, black and magenta colored armor Echo was wearing a big thumbs up in approval, then tilted his head toward the screen giving a few light nods, signaling Echo to resume playing the video.

Norvin had enjoyed seeing all the other forms Echo was changing into, so much so that he was using a lot of his attention to admire all the different heroes, instead of paying full attention to the record, and Absolute Decade was no different.

This version of Decade was an alternate, fan-made super-form that Norvin had stumbled across one day on the internet, its sleek look had prompted him to use it instead of Decade's regular, canon super-form. Norvin preferred the aesthetics of the fan made version much more than the original.

Echo shook his head, having noticed Norvin's divided attention long ago. At this point he just accepted it and resumed the playback.

The Inferno Condenser briefly surveyed the bright lights of battle around the planet that had suddenly replaced the darkness of space, a chaotic clash of energies amidst the stars. Its companions had engaged the five outrageously powerful lifeforms and it wasn't quite sure that they could handle them, hence its dash towards the surface.

Believing that the creatures down on the surface were essential to Magus plan, getting rid of them would at least wreck their wicked machinations a little bit before rushing up to help its friends.

It snarled and picked up its pace, leaving a bright, blazing red trail behind it. The white and purple comet approached and raced towards the surface side by side with the Inferno Condenser. Inferno Condenser growled at its comrade, the 'Portal Walker Specter' while not bothering to hold back any of the flame like energy that was wildly scattering from its body.

Any time a stray flame neared it, the Portal Walker Specter would simply disappear into an impromptu portal and appear on the other side of the red comet beside it. It happened so often that the energy trails formed in their wake created an odd, beautiful looking pattern as they approached the planet.

The Portal Walker Specter's core was a shimmering, translucent orb, inscribed with ancient runes of passage that even some of the oldest mages wouldn't recognize, constantly shifting and undulating like a living gateway. Its form consisted of a sleek, streamlined purple and white cloud that could also reshape itself into a smaller figure like the rest of the Primordial Spectra.

As it danced around the Inferno Condenser, its shape quickly changed to that of a female humanoid, its new, violet, glassy skin becoming completely smooth without a single break, asides from a small set of lips and brightly glowing eyes, one solid purple and one fully white.

You could still see the mixed 'gasses' billowing around under the glass like, see through-skin.

Energy streams resembling twin scarfs acted like a ninja muffler, fluttering behind it while it portal hopped.

The Portal Walker Specters abilities were exactly what they sounded like, they revolved around creating portals—magical gateways that could teleport itself or others across space, seamlessly moving through different locations. It could send enemies into spatial pockets or trap them in endless dimensional loops. However, its power was limited by the constraints of space stabilization technology; asides from its portals it could only rely on basic magic spells—focused on concussive force and its own energy manipulation—and would struggle against top-tier space stabilization equipment.

Therefore, it wanted nothing to do with the Super Armorer that had started releasing their fantastic energy on the other side of the planets atmosphere.

The electromagnetic energy was violent, it crackled and lit up the area Aetherion was fighting in, visible from this side of the planet... that sort of power and level would come along a lot of space stabilization technology, directly countering the Portal Walkers abilities.

As the Inferno Condenser headed toward the planet, it sought out the faint, weaker signatures of energy sources lingering nearby—less powerful, yet still significant.

Suddenly sensing two signatures among the others that were actually quite a bit stronger than the rest it was picking up, it had only just now noticed Flynn and Sylvanthia's Grade A energy fluctuations.

They were not trying to hide their auras at all anymore, clearly aware of the situation unfolding out in space.

This caught the attention of the Inferno Condenser, making it detonate little bomb like pockets of flaming energy all around its fiery body in excitement, the sub--bodies racing alongside danced out of the way of the explosions, clearly used to the aftermath of this Primordial Spectras emotional fluctuations.

It moved with purpose, driven by an instinct to consume or possibly forge bonds with entities it deemed compatible.

Primordial Spectra would sometimes search for a compatible super or strong creature with a suitable body to serve as its host. The Inferno Condenser, being a little more instinctual than intelligent, constantly searched for a master to bond with, much more proactive than any of the other Primordial Spectra would ever be. This time, however, Electro Forge had preemptively communicated with it, instructing it to destroy everything it encountered instead of trying to play house or make friends.

...

Down on the surface of this particular part of the planet, there was a wide-open circular clearing in a vast forest, consisting of lush looking grass, clover and flowers. Sylvanthia the dryad and Flynn the phoenix had landed in this clearing not long ago and now stood besides the cargo they had been left responsible for, looking upwards at the two quickly approaching objects entering the atmosphere of the planet while starting to revolve their own energies.

One of the incoming comets disappeared and then reappeared in the sky above the clearing, stepping out of a magical portal and waiting for the bright red streak of light that it had left behind to catch up.

While the Inferno Condenser was still a long ways off, Sylvanthia crouched down and placed both of her hands on the ground. A small green glint flashed across her eyes and the ground started rumbling, numerous large tree roots suddenly erupted in a circle around the cargo ship with the Meta beasts still inside.

It was as if there was suddenly a massive tree growing upside-down under ground and its huge root system had been exposed. Roots grew upwards and then suddenly turned to close in on themselves with great speed, encapsulating the ship in a protective cage. Twin green magic crests appeared around both of Sylvanthia's submerged wrists, before sinking into the ground.

There was a strong magical pulse and the ground rumbled again. A moment later the roots stopped moving, locking together like grasping fingers, flashing with a bright green color. Sylvanthia had created a makeshift shield using one of her races natural abilities, then used an extremely advanced defensive spell to make the now intertwined, meter-thick roots nearly indestructible.

A look of interest flashed across the expressive, glowing eyes of the Primordial Spectra as it watched the two lowly creatures attempt to erect defenses and resist their fate.

The Inferno Condenser hurtled down towards the ground, trailing a massive plume of smoke as it raised a glowing, white-hot paw. Having gathered a surplus of heat during its chaotic, less-than-aerodynamic descent through the atmosphere, it now resembled a blazing warhead, intent on launching a high-speed attack without any intention of slowing down.

"Flynn-Flynn, go!"

Sylvanthia's eyes flashed and the ground rumbled yet again, directly underneath the Portal Walker Specter another massive plant broke through the surface of the grassy earth, shooting dirt everywhere.

Right before the ground exploded, the tiny yellow bird moved, landing neatly on top of the giant bud of the plant stalk, now rising rapidly from the ground, neatly avoiding all of the dirt that was spraying and hitching a ride as the plant ascended rapidly towards the curious Primordial Spectra above it.

The Portal Walker Specter neatly dodged, stepping aside in the air as Flynn and the growing plant rocketed by, its mismatched eyes remaining locked onto Sylvanthia down below; the Inferno Condenser was a mere 500 meters away now and closing in fast.

Flynn crouched and launched himself upwards while flapping his wings and using the powerful Apex Grade energy inside himself to gain even greater speed.

The trajectory of the plant changed the moment Flynn launched himself upwards, turning back around in a quick arc and heading towards the Portal Walker.

Flynn's size increased to many times larger than it had once been, gaining the wing span of a small plane in the blink of an eye while the purple light on his feathers turned red and lit on fire; he now looked very similar to the incoming Inferno Condenser.

Flynn happened to be a fire-type Meta and his flames and form immediately matched up to the intensity of the Inferno Condenser.

"Moltres!"

Norvin pointed at the screen again in excitement while Echo rolled his simulated eyes behind the sharp looking helmet of DC's Ghost-Maker and ignored him.

Boom!

A moment later, the two fiery beasts collided at high speed, creating a massive shockwave, while down below, the bulb of the now rapidly descending plant suddenly split in half and opened.

A jagged mouthful of spiky, 'tooth-like', foot-long filaments dripped a sticky liquid and then the bright yellow and purple neon 'flesh' within the plants maw snapped closed around the seemingly indifferent and motionless Portal Walker Specter.

For some reason, it had decided to not even bother dodging the monstrous, Venus flytrap-like creature Sylvanthia had summoned.
