Victor raised an eyebrow.
"Patch it through."
He waited for a few rings, then leisurely picked up the receiver. Neither spoke, and they faced off in silence for nearly two minutes.
Finally, the patience on the other end ran out.
"Mr. Victor, I'm calling to discuss, with the utmost seriousness, the disastrous situation in Texas. Your military actions have caused massive civilian casualties and a humanitarian crisis, severely undermining regional stability..."
"Hold on, hold on."
Victor impatiently interrupted him, "Little Bush, save your speech. Just say what you want. If it's to make me withdraw my troops, forget it. The land my soldiers shed blood for isn't for negotiating over."
Little Bush's breathing grew heavier, seemingly suppressing his anger:
"Mr. Victor, you're playing with fire! You're underestimating the determination of the international community..."
