Aelipsia, a once active place with hardworking adults and cheerful children who ran up and down. Aelipsia though still part of the Galasia Kingdom it is rather far out almost isolated from the main kingdom thus mostly peasants resided there. A simple quiet life, for any ordinary person or ...perhaps someone trying to run away from their past.
Jason came here looking to leave his past behind and die a slow lonely death, for the vices he did or didn't do, it was still all a fog to him. Aelipsia seemed a perfect place for him to run away to and it was, for months he lived in solitude up on the mountain, and did he's best not to interact with people from the village bellow. All until recently when some idiotic raiders came and ruined his peace, he wanted to get rid of them, to punish them for ruining his tranquility but that would mean the villagers would see him as a savior, some sort of beacon of hope....a Hero.
And those days were behind him, being a hero is more trouble than it should be, if only that kid knew that. Thanks to him and the unfortunate hand of Fate, my past came back for me.
Arthur, a student and great friend of mine, I had a feeling he'd be the first to look for me, he was the last one who stood by my side after all. But not like this, if only things were different. I know you want answers, trust me I wanted them too. But those answers come at a price, a price only i want to pay for. So please forgive me my friend but I can't let you exert your revenge, not yet at least.
Arthur, in his new phoenix form, dived right towards Jason at a breakneck speed, a vapor cone of pure blue flames forming around him as he set his sights for his former teacher.
The few furniture and house structure that survived the initial blast started burning up once more as Arthur was making his speedy descent. Jason on the other hand didn't even break a sweat, his shadowy aura engulfed his entire body acting like an automatic armor.
The shadow tentacles behind his back twitched in power as their tips faced the descending phoenix. Once Arthur was within striking range, the tentacles shot out towards him to intercept his flight path.
Arthur, showing no concern or worry for the incoming attack, simply weaved through the numerous tentacles, grazing by them by sheer inches.
"You're getting slower, Jason! You really wanna tell me the country life has made you this weak ,huh?!" Arthur said in a gloating tone as he was now getting closer and closer.
Jason showed no vivid response to Arthur's comment and instead changed his tactic. Once Arthur was just at the right spot, he shot all of his tentacles all at once with a greater speed and strength.
Arthur tutted in annoyance as he tried to dodge the new attack once more. But the tentacles a simply too many and travelling too fast and the best he could do was dodge two or three. Right when he was about to dodge the fourth, one of them caught him by the leg and pulled him back, that was enough for the other tentacles to finally hit as they wrapped around him, some were getting burned up by the sheer heat coming off of Arthur but eventually the accumulated enough to cocoon him.
The area went silent, as all that stood was now a shadowy human-sized cocoon and a man who walked slowly towards it.
"Arthur please, I don't want to do this. But knowing you, you leave me no choice," Jason said once he was close enough, he started clenching his fist and in response the tentacles started constricting even more. Jason had no intention to kill Arthur, actually far from it, he simply wanted to constrict him and maybe subdue him long enough to leave. But what happened next reminded him just how wonderful of a teacher he was. As the shadow tentacles constricting him, started getting brighter and brighter before eventually emitting a bright blue blaze followed by a huge explosion that destroyed the cocoon as well as the connected tentacles.
In its place was a more powered up Arthur, with larger wings and more searing flames, but in his hand he held a meter long saber. The saber was elegant, curved just right, other than the blue flames that danced along its blade, its gold hilt shone in sheer power.
Serres de phenix: A physical manifestation of Arthur's arcanum. A blade forged in a sun's core and just as hot. It's edges can slice through nearly anything, not due to it's sharpness but the sheer heat it radiates.
Once Jason rolled away from the explosion, he locked his eyes on Arthur. He caught sight of Arthur's arcane tool. Last he knew, Arthur couldn't summon it, but it appears he grew stronger than he thought.
Jason slowly stood up, his eyes still locked on Arthur. No words spoken, only daggers thrown by each other's eyes. A solid minute of silence stretched on before , Jason stretched out his arm.
Arms of the Abyss: Unlike his usual Shadow tentacles, these ones are larger and stronger. Their sheer number and relentless is over whelming.
The twenty pillar sized tentacles sped towards a stationary Arthur. Arthur simply smirked and clenched his hand around his sword and once the tentacles were within striking range. In a heart's gentle heartbeat, the tentacles were sliced and Arthur now an arm's reach away from Jason. He lifted his scimitar high ready to smite Jason, but Jason reacted right in time and dashed away. Arthur clicked in annoyance as he stared back at Jason, a piece of Jason's jet black hair laying where he stood moments ago.
"You've gotten faster I see," Jason says as he noticed his cut off strand of hair. "But speed is pointless without precision," he adds as he forms more Arms of Abyss.
Arthur spread his phoenix wings further as he switched his sword hand. "Leave it to you to find a way to instill a teaching tip even now," he said as he dashed towards Jason once more. Slicing through the Tentacles once more but something was different this time.
Just as he was cutting through them, when a few pierced through his armour, that's when he noticed the bladed tips on the tentacles. That and as much as he cut through the tentacles, they wouldn't get exhausted in fact they seemed to be multiplying.
Arms of abyss(Hydra heads): A modification of the previous spell, giving the tentacles blades and a rejuvenation perk where if one is destroyed two grow in its place.
The tentacles were now giving Arthur a run for his money, as they were now pushing him back. Arthur sliced all through but it was futile as only he was getting sliced, his clothes being shredded as he went on. Eventually a tentacle struck his shoulder, catching him off guard and leaving an opening for another tentacle to strike him into a nearby tree.
Arthur hit the tree with his back before falling to the floor. "Don't fight blind, strength is nothing if it's not used with a brain," Jason said in a lecture like tone.
Arthur got back up with a simple chuckle and looked at Jason. "As much as I hate you, you somehow are still an amazing teacher," Jason said as his scimitar started sparking in heat and energy as runes started getting imprinted on the blade. He faced the blades hilt towards the sigils forming the Tentacles and sighed softly, Phoenix screech.
The scimitar's runes light up even brighter as a powerful destructive unibeam shot out of the blade's tip. The beam struck through the tentacles, through the sigils and hit Jason, dragging him downhill to the forest he was earlier that day.
Arthur pointed the Blade towards the sky and shot out another similar attack. The beam shot out towards the clouds before eventually coming back down to the forest areas Jason landed and what was once a green forest of land, turned to a scorched waste field in mere seconds.
Arthur sighed and looked down. "Maybe stay dead this time, old man," Arthur said to himself before turning around to leave.
But the change in the environment pressure proved him right, it was gonna take more to put him down. Arthur stood in place and faced the burning forest waiting for Jason to walk out, but nothing happened. For a moment he thought maybe he actually did die and he was just paranoid but that's when it happened.
He sensed it right in time, and put up his sword right in time to parry a shadow battle axe to the side. The axe was the exact same, Jason left earlier in the day. Arthur looked at the axe that he had just redirected from cutting off his head, and that's when he noticed the shadow it was casting on the ground seem to bubble and before he could react, Jason shot out and delivered a straight blow to Arthur's chest pushing him and rolling him on the ground.
Arthur stood right back up with a cynical grin and pointed his scimitar towards Jason once more. He was about to shoot another Phoenix screech when Jason reacted first. He grabbed the shadow axe and struck it's hilt on the ground.
Veil of Shadows....
