Gong Shirao couldn't hear Zhan Nanjue speak; her eyes were clouded with tears, blurring her vision, making it hard for her to see his face or expression.
But she stubbornly continued to look into his eyes.
Gong Shirao continued speaking:
"Thank you for not touching me earlier, for giving me the chance to make a final choice."
"Before this, I thought I could accept all of your past and create a better present with you."
"I lost."
"I take back what I said earlier. I thought I could do it, but I've realized I can't."
"I think I can't accept your past." Not just the past, but not even now...
"Congratulations, your reason convinced me."
"You should go."
"Oh no, this is your hospital room, I'm the one who should leave."
As Gong Shirao said this, she turned and started to run, bumping into the wall beside her in her agitation.
Zhan Nanjue quickly reached out his left hand to support her, but she knocked his hand away without even looking at him, stumbling as she ran off.
