"Do you really think so?"
"Yes!" Gong Shirao replied,
"Alright then," Yan Ziyan said, "it's up to you."
Gong Shirao felt a sudden pain in her chest.
"After all, it's your matter. Perhaps it would be more meaningful if you cleared it up yourselves," Yan Ziyan added. "But, Shirao, no matter what, don't misunderstand him. You're really important to him."
Hearing this, Gong Shirao's pupils suddenly contracted.
Important?
She's important?
She really couldn't see how she was important to him, in what ways she mattered.
All she saw was his full helplessness, forced compromises.
What's important is, he didn't want to follow their childhood promise, felt deep guilt toward her, didn't know how to compensate, and yet truly couldn't care about her, couldn't convince himself to pay attention to her life.
But, why feel guilty?
