Shen Mosheng couldn't wait to run forward and hug Han Yingying tightly, breathing in the familiar scent of her body; his jittery heart finally settled, "Yingying, thank goodness you're alright."
Nestled in that warm embrace, Han Yingying felt at peace, her heart that had been cold for a day and night warmed up, "Shen Mosheng, I missed you so much."
"Me too," Shen Mosheng said tenderly as he kissed the top of her head, "Yingying, do you want to go home?"
A brief silence flowed between them before Han Yingying finally said softly, "I can't go back right now."
It wasn't that she wouldn't go back, or didn't want to go back, but that she couldn't go back.
Her calm tone couldn't hide the helplessness that seeped through.
Hesitant, Shen Mosheng carefully asked, "Is he very sick?"
Another silence followed, and Han Yingying's voice was so faint it was almost inaudible, "Because of me, he lost half his world."
