Chapter 3: Of Eggs, Foxes, and Glowing Bonds
Jake and Arceus stood silently as the boys disappeared through their respective doors. The room settled into stillness… until Jake chuckled.
"Well, my old friend, what do you think of those two?"
Arceus nodded thoughtfully. "They're worthy of my children. But... how do you plan to protect them from the malice waiting in their worlds?"
Jake raised a brow. "Seriously? You've known me for millennia. Of course I've wrapped them both in protection. No one with ill intent can get close. Let's just sit back and enjoy the show — see how they handle the power of their new companions."
With a grin, he snapped his fingers.
Two screens shimmered into existence, each showing a different world.
[Konoha]
Naruto stumbled out of the strange shop, still dazed. In his arms was the egg — large, warm, and glowing faintly. His eyes sparkled, but his mind raced with questions.
From the shadows, voices crept in.
"Oh look, it's the demon fox again.""What is he holding now? An egg?""He's up to something. That can't be good."
Naruto flinched but clutched the egg tighter to his chest and hurried back to his shabby apartment. Once inside, he collapsed onto his bed, still holding it close. He stared at it, then smiled.
"Well, little one... from now on, we're a team. What do you say?"
Poof!
A cloud of smoke erupted beside him, and the Nine-Tailed Fox — Kurama — appeared, in a smaller, almost plush-like form.
The fox grunted. "Yo. I'm Kurama. Technically still sealed inside you… but thanks to that insane shopkeeper, the seal's kinda not a thing anymore. And no, I'm not leaving. That guy freaks me out."
Naruto blinked. "Wait, you were sealed inside me? That's why the villagers called me a demon fox?"
Kurama sighed. "Yeah… sorry, kid. It's true. That night, the Fourth Hokage — your dad — and your mom gave their lives to stop me. I was being controlled back then. They sealed me inside you to protect the village. And now, well... here we are."
Naruto was silent for a moment, then looked down at the egg.
"…So, you're not going anywhere, huh?"
"Not unless that Jake guy forgets I exist, and I'm not betting on that. Besides, I'm curious about the egg. Feels… weird. Like it's powerful."
Naruto grinned. "Awesome. That means I've got two companions now!"
Kurama's eyes widened slightly — then narrowed in amusement. "You're insane. I like it."
Just then, the egg began to glow.
Both of them froze, watching as light pulsed from within.
[The Shop]
Jake burst out laughing. "Look at Kurama's face! I haven't seen a tailed beast look that rattled since the old wars."
Alphamon emerged from the back, arms crossed, smirking. "You traumatized a living natural disaster. Congrats."
Arceus chuckled. "Come on, Alphamon. You know Jake — if he likes someone, he'll destroy ten universes just to keep them safe."
Jake grinned innocently. "What? I'm not that bad."
Both companions stared at him silently.
"…Okay, maybe a little. Let's check on Harry."
[Privet Drive, 4]
In the dark cupboard beneath the stairs, Harry sat in stunned silence. The egg in his arms pulsed with gentle energy.
Then — from above — thundered the voice of his uncle.
"OI, BRAT! GET UP AND MAKE BREAKFAST!"
Harry jolted, hastily wrapped the egg in a blanket, and whispered, "I'll be right back, my friend."
He darted out to do his chores, never noticing the egg twitching gently beneath the fabric — glowing faintly in response to his words.
Hours later, exhausted and bruised, Harry returned.
He sat down, cradled the egg, and smiled softly.
"Strange things are happening… but I promise, we'll be best friends."
The egg in his arms pulsed — then began to glow.
[The Shop]
Jake leaned back with a satisfied grin. "So? Gentlemen? What do you think of my little plan?"
Arceus nodded. "It's beautiful. Let's see what kind of trainers they become."
Alphamon crossed his arms. "Tch. Let's see how they handle my children."
Jake cracked a smile, eyes fixed on the glowing screens."Let the chaos begin."
