Chapter 50 - Act 47 - Magnet Trouble

The day began innocently enough—just another typical morning where the air buzzed with the usual high school energy. But for Raika Kumon, the Thunder Fairy noble, it was shaping up to be anything but normal. Her powers, always a little unruly when her emotions spiked, were on the verge of a full-blown malfunction.

It started during homeroom, right after Gojo made one of his typical teasing remarks, smirking as he called her "shockingly cute." Raika's cheeks flamed a bright red, and her eyes flashed with a sudden surge of electricity. A faint hum filled the classroom, unnoticed by most but not by Gojo—he had come to recognize the warning signs.

By the time the bell rang for the next period, Raika was already struggling to contain the crackling energy that radiated from her. Her pulse quickened as she hastened down the hallway, trying to make it to her locker before the electric storm inside her erupted.

Unfortunately, her emotions were anything but calm.

She reached her locker and fumbled with the combination, fingers trembling slightly. The moment her hand brushed the cold metal surface, a sudden magnetic pulse surged outward. The lockers along the corridor began to rattle and hum, their metal doors sliding open and shut like restless mouths.

Gojo, who was trailing behind at a casual distance, suddenly found himself yanked forward by an invisible force—and with a loud thunk, he crashed right into Raika, slamming against her with an awkward thud.

"Whoa! Raika! What the—?"

She staggered back, her powers magnetizing everything metal in the vicinity, including Gojo's watch, belt buckle, and the metal buttons on his shirt. The magnetic field glued him to her like a magnet stuck to a fridge, much to their mutual surprise.

"Ugh, get off me!" Gojo grunted, struggling to pry himself free, but the magnetic pull was unrelenting.

Raika's face flushed a deeper shade of crimson as she realized just how close they were—his chest pressed against her back, their bodies practically glued together by the errant electricity.

"Th-this is bad!" she stammered, her voice trembling as she struggled to reverse the effect. Every movement made the magnetic forces tug and pull, causing both of them to wobble precariously.

"Hold still," she muttered, concentrating hard, but the wild energy refused to obey. Instead, a stronger magnetic pulse jolted through her, making her hair stand on end and sending Gojo's shirt buttons flying off one by one.

Suddenly, the corridor doors burst open, and Suma walked in, holding a bottle of juice.

Her eyes immediately locked onto the scene. "What the hell is going on here?"

The bottle slipped from her fingers, crashing to the floor and spilling sticky liquid everywhere. The glass bottle rolled right up to Raika and Gojo, who were now hopelessly tangled in each other's arms.

Raika's eyes widened in panic, and she snapped her fingers instinctively—zapping everyone within a five-meter radius with a shockwave of electricity.

"Gyaaah!" Suma yelped as the shock sent her flying backwards, landing on the floor with a thud.

Nearby students gasped and scrambled away from the sudden electric blast, some clutching their arms, others shielding their faces.

Gojo blinked, dazed but mostly unharmed, while Raika pressed a hand to her forehead, tears of frustration welling up.

"I'm... so sorry," she whispered, voice cracking. "I didn't mean to—"

Suma, ever practical despite the shock, groaned as she pulled herself up. "Seriously, Raika? What's wrong with you?"

Raika shook her head, then bolted down the hallway, tears streaming down her face, electricity crackling around her like a tiny storm cloud. Students hurried out of her way, murmuring about the "magnetic freak."

Gojo sighed, running a hand through his disheveled hair, trying not to grin despite the chaos.

"Well... that was an electrifying experience," he muttered.

Suma gave him a pointed look. "You're impossible."

Meanwhile, down the hall, Raika leaned against a locker, trembling with shame and frustration. Her powers, beautiful but volatile, seemed to isolate her more each day.

But somewhere deep inside, a spark of something new flickered—a desire not just to control her powers, but to control her feelings too. And maybe, just maybe, to stop zapping Gojo every time he called her cute.

Because despite the sparks, the zaps, and the chaotic moments, she was beginning to care. And that was the most dangerous charge of all.
