Chapter 77 - Chapter 77 - The Art of Falling.

Rodriguez's House

Rodriguez walked back and forth in the dim room, his chest tight with tension. He couldn't get rid of the feeling that Blaze was up to something, something that could ruin all his hard work.

Teaming up with Blaze seemed risky but also tempting, and his gut said to be careful.

He looked at the clock again, getting more annoyed by the second. "Where the hell is Gino?" He needed answers, and he needed them now. Just as he thought this, the door creaked open, and Gino came in, holding a file tightly.

Rodriguez marched over and yanked the file from Gino's hand, making Gino flinch. "What did you find?" he growled, his voice tight.

Gino paused, sizing up Rodriguez's mood, then started talking. "Baldwin has a beef with the Romanos —his father had a big feud with them, and it spills over to the Romanos too. There's a lot of bad history between their families. Blaze might be after the Romanos for personal reasons."

Rodriguez furrowed his brow, flipping through the pages of the file, taking in the details. "What are we dealing with here? Can we trust him?"

Gino shifted nervously, picking his words carefully. "He had a tough childhood. His dad was really harsh. But Blaze seems different. He's driven, and this feud with the Romanos could be good for us. If he really wants to take them down, it might be an opportunity for us."

Rodriguez stopped pacing and turned to face Gino. "Do you really think he wants to help us, or is he just trying to trick us into letting our guard down?"

"I believe he has a real reason," Gino said, his loyalty to Rodriguez clear in his voice. "But we still need to stay alert. He's definitely dangerous, but he could also be the ally we need against the Romanos."

Rodriguez rubbed his hand over his face, feeling the pressure of the decision. The Romanos were a real threat, and if Blaze was out for revenge, maybe they could use that. But trusting Blaze was risky, and Rodriguez wasn't one to jump into things without thinking it through.

"Set up a meeting," Rodriguez said, keeping his voice steady. "But get more info on Baldwin first. I need to know everything about him and his past. If we're going to team up, I want to be ready for anything."

Gino nodded, feeling relieved. "I'll start right away. I'll look deeper into his connections and figure out what makes him tick."

As Gino left, Rodriguez started pacing again, his mind spinning with thoughts of what could happen. Working with Blaze was risky, but sometimes you had to use a strong ally to beat a powerful enemy. Rodriguez knew he had to be careful, staying alert and cautious as he dealt with the tricky mix of trust and betrayal.

Some time later

In the dim light of Rodriguez's office, the air felt heavy with tension. The walls were covered with framed photos showing power, loyalty, and reminders of those who had wronged him. At the shiny wooden desk, Rodriguez leaned back, hands clasped together, his eyes sharp as he thought about the challenge ahead. Gino, his trusted secretary, stood close by with a notepad, ready to jot down the plans that could change everything.

"Gino," Rodriguez started, keeping his voice low and steady, "the Romanos are a big issue we can't ignore anymore. They're involved in everything, and just when you think you've got them, they slip away." Gino nodded, his brow furrowed. "They're smart, boss. Always one step ahead. But if we're careful-"

Rodriguez waved his hand to stop him.

"Being careful isn't enough. We need a plan that's smart and sneaky. They put too much faith in their network, and that's our weak spot to exploit." He stood up and started pacing, the shiny floor casting shadows under his feet. "We need inside information. Something they won't expect. If we can turn tables, we might gain the upper hand. What do we know about how they operate?"

Gino flipped through his notes. "They depend a lot on a few key players-mostly low-level guys who do their dirty work, without getting caught by the cops, some even gets bribed. If we can get inside that group, we could cause some trouble."

Rodriguez stopped, his eyes narrowing. "Infiltration. Good idea. We need someone who can get close. Someone they won't doubt."

"I've been watching a few of their friends," Gino said, writing down names. "There's a kid named Marco. He's really ambitious and wants to prove himself. We could use him to spread some doubt."

Rodriguez smiled, a mean look in his eyes.

"Perfect. We'll go after Romano. But we need to be careful. If the Romanos find out what we're up to, they'll stick together, and we'll be out of luck."

Gino's pen zipped across the page, sketching out a quick plan. "We can pull off a couple of small jobs to show Romano how easy it is to cross him. Make it look like a sweet deal. Once he's on board, we can give him fake info."

Rodriguez nodded, the plan coming together in his head.

"And we need to stir up trouble between their top people. And the one we will send. He can create doubts, they'll be watching their backs. It'll cause chaos."

"Exactly," Gino said, his eyes lighting up with excitement. "And once they're distracted, we can strike."

Rodriguez took a moment to think it over. "But we gotta be ready for them to fight back. The Romanos aren't pushovers. We need to beef up our defenses."

"Absolutely," Gino said, his voice serious.

"I'll get our team ready. We'll set up an alert-if anything seems wrong, we'll back off." Rodriguez felt a rush of excitement from the upcoming battle.

"We'll make them believe they have the upper hand," Rodriguez muttered, his eyes narrowing with ruthless intent. "Then, we strike—fast, hard, and with no mercy. They won't know what hit them."

As the plan unfolded in his mind, Rodriguez shot a glance at Gino, a fierce fire igniting in his chest. "Let's make them regret the day they ever crossed us. The Romanos will learn that in our world, betrayal is a dangerous game—and we always play to win."

Herbert Medical And Technology

In the heart of the city, Blaze sat back in his leather chair, the faint glow of the office lights casting long, deliberate shadows that seemed to draw him deeper into thought. He tapped his fingers slowly against the desk, the sound a quiet counterpoint to the storm raging in his mind.

Every angle, every possibility played out in his head as he considered his next move against Rodriguez—measured, precise, and unforgiving. This was a game of consequences, and Blaze intended to come out on top.

Blaze's gaze shifted to Arthur, who stood by, ever vigilant and always a step ahead, anticipating his every need.

"Have you got the intel? What's the one thing that could truly cripple him? Something that could bring everything he's built to the ground?"

Arthur met Blaze's eyes with an unspoken understanding of the weight behind the question.

"Boss, if we're looking for a chink in his armor, it's his family. Rodriguez is fiercely protective, especially when it comes to his daughter, Sofia."

Blaze's interest piqued, and he leaned forward slightly. "Sofia? What makes her the key?"

Arthur's expression grew more serious. "Rodriguez would burn the world down to keep her safe. Loyalty's everything to him, but family? That's his Achilles' heel. If we make her the target—, pull her into this—he'd lose all sense of control. He wouldn't just falter; he'd collapse entirely."

Blaze's fingers drummed the edge of the table, his eyes narrowing as he leaned in, the dim light from the single lamp above casting sharp shadows on his face.

The room, tucked away in the back of an anonymous building, was as quiet as a tomb, save for the steady hum of an old air conditioner. It was a place that smelled like secrecy—a place where decisions that could topple empires were made.

He spoke with the kind of calm that was dangerous, the kind that came from knowing the weight of every word.

"We don't go in loud, Arthur. We don't need brute force to win this. We need subtlety. A whisper in the right ear, a shadow in the right corner. We create the illusion of chaos."

Arthur, sitting across from him, nodded in agreement. His hand hovered over a Ipad, fingers tracing the edges of itsas he scribbled down thoughts, trying to keep pace with the cold precision of Blaze's mind.

"His whole empire is a facade—built on an untouchable image, on a reputation that's as solid as a fortress. But even the strongest walls crack when the pressure is right. And when we apply enough pressure… well, that's when it all comes down. Piece by piece."

Blaze's expression shifted, his face becoming a mask of focus.

"But what's the key to breaking him? What's the one thing we can leverage that will make him lose control? We need to look beyond the obvious." His gaze flickered briefly to Arthur, a silent demand for more information.

Arthur hesitated, his mind turning over the fragments of intelligence they had gathered. Blaze was no stranger to risk, but he played the game with a careful, calculated hand—never venturing into territory that could turn personal, unless the opportunity was too good to ignore. And Arthur wasn't sure if this was one of those opportunities.

Still, he knew Blaze well enough to trust that hesitation now could cost them everything.

Finally, Arthur spoke, his voice low. "Rodriguez has a third-party company—one no one talks about. The one everyone assumes is a front. But it's not. That company's the heart of his real wealth. Beneath the surface, it's tied to a web of illegal operations, fraud, and backdoor dealings. That's where he's most exposed, Blaze—where his true power is. But it's also his greatest weakness."

Blaze's gaze sharpened, the faintest flicker of interest in his eyes. He leaned forward, his voice dropping even lower. "Explain."

Arthur swallowed, feeling the weight of the moment. This wasn't just about taking down a man—it was about breaking an entire empire.

"Rodriguez's empire isn't just one man. It's a network—partners, shadow deals, alliances that no one knows about. If we can isolate one of his closest allies, expose even a single crack in his inner circle… it will send ripples through everything. His allies will question their loyalty, his network will implode, and his entire operation will start to dissolve. There's no coming back from that kind of exposure."

Blaze's lips twitched, the faintest curve of a smile forming. "So, we take out one of his top people, and it sends the whole house of cards tumbling down?"

Arthur nodded slowly, his eyes focused on the paper in front of him.

"Yes. If we target the right person, someone with the right secrets, we could cause a scandal so damaging, even Rodriguez won't be able to contain it. The authorities get involved, the media catches wind, and his empire starts to crack from within. As his partners scramble to distance themselves, he'll be forced to burn bridges, cut ties with the very people who helped him build his fortune."

Blaze's eyes gleamed, his mind already turning, calculating the risks and rewards. His voice was like ice now, cutting through the air with a dangerous calm. "And desperation makes people reckless. That's when they make mistakes."

Arthur could see the plan unfolding in Blaze's mind—a web of manipulation, deceit, and strategic strikes. It was brilliant. Cold. And inevitable.

"Once the trust starts to crumble, his empire will follow suit. He won't be able to stop it." Arthur's excitement was barely contained, but Blaze's focus was razor-sharp, all-consuming.

"When his reputation is in tatters, when his closest allies doubt him, that's when we move. At that point, it won't just be the business falling apart—it'll be him. His pride, his power, everything he's built, all slipping through his fingers."

Blaze leaned back in his chair, a dark satisfaction in his expression. His eyes were distant, but there was no doubt—he could see the endgame clearly now. "Good. We move fast, we move with precision. And we make sure the chaos is inevitable. No second chances. The sooner we get this rolling, the better."

The weight of the plan settled between them, a sense of anticipation thick in the air. Blaze's mind was already several steps ahead, calculating, dissecting, finding the cracks in the foundation that could bring Rodriguez's world to the ground. And as the pieces clicked into place, he couldn't help but feel the familiar rush of control—the thrill of knowing that in this world of shadows, he was the one pulling the strings.

Betrayal, after all, was an art form. And Blaze was always the master artist.
