Chapter 1 - Beginning?

A young boy stood tall upon the mountains ledge as he looked down upon the village and towards the nearby city

"Ayato, you're here again." A girl spoke behind him, she was clearly annoyed but she only walked towards then stood beside him.

"Don't you get tired of looking at the same view everyday?" She asked as she tilted her head to look at Ayato.

"Never, It's not what I can see that brings me up here, it's what I imagine beyond it. I want to travel, see everything, and feel everything." Ayato spoke in a calm manner as his eyes sparkled before turning around.

"Come, let's go down the mountain Miyna, your mother might get worried." Ayato reached out his arm towards Miyna as she reaches forward to hold his hand as they went down.

When they reached the foot of the mountain he let go of her hand and waved goodbye to her before they went their separate ways.

Ayato walked over to his home and entered, the smell of booze waft through the air as he saw his father passed out on the bed.

His father became a drunkard when his mother had left, bandits had attacked the village that night and a stray arrow had struck her. The healers tried everything they could but they couldn't save her.

"Father, Don't blame yourself." He spoke softly as he fixed the blanket over his father before laying down beside him to sleep.

He was awoken by the loud ringing sound, the village bell was rung. His father had helped him off the bed before grabbing his sword.

"Stay here, don't run out and don't open the door." His father spoke his speech still slurred a bit but once the loud bell repeated, he sobered up immediately.

Ayato had nodded and his father left the hut, he rushed to lock the door and grabbed a dagger he hid and held it close to him for protection.

Screaming could be heard from the outside. He waited for hours until it fully stopped. He approached the door slowly and opened it worried about his father.

Ayato was not ready for what he would see, bodies littered the floor, the village healers working to heal any survivors.

He rushed towards them and asked if they had seen his father, the healers all shook their heads as he held the dagger in his hands before rushing off to look for him.

He would yell loudly calling out for his father. He came to an abrupt stop as he saw a bloodied man with his sword stabbed into the ground whilst holding onto it tightly.

He choked on air as his chest grew heavy while tears streamed down his cheeks before running towards him.

Once he was in arms reach the body slumped over to the ground. He fell to his knees, tears continuously streaming down his cheek before he fell down his forehead pressed up against the dirt.

He could feel someone calling out to him but it was drowned out by thr pain in his chest. He would only react when the voice hugged him from behind, only then he would collapse.
