"Oh, you jerk! How could you cheat on me with her? I'm very disappointed in you," Lingxi exclaimed, her voice laced with anger and sadness. She pulled away from Haochen's grasp, her eyes blazing with tears.
Haochen tried to persuade her, his voice laced with guilt. "Lingxi, please listen to me. It was a mistake, I swear. I love you, not Yueying."
Lingxi's face contorted in pain as she turned to Yueying. "And you, Yueying, are very ungrateful. I took you under my wing, treated you like a sister, and this is how you repay me?"
Yueying looked down, her voice barely audible. "I'm sorry, Lingxi. I was weak and made a mistake."
Lingxi's anger turned to disgust. "Weak? You were weak? You're a traitor, Yueying. Get out of my sight before I do something I regret."
Yueying quickly scurried away, leaving Lingxi and Haochen alone.
Lingxi turned back to Haochen, her voice rising. "Haochen, let go of me! I don't want your touch, your lies, or your excuses. You're dead to me."
Haochen tried to catch her again, but Lingxi pulled away, her eyes flashing with anger. "Don't touch me! Don't ever touch me again!"
She ran out of the house, her face stained with tears. Haochen chased after her, but she was already sitting in her car, ready to drive off.
He stood near the window, knocking on it desperately. "Lingxi, I can explain! Please don't leave! You can't drive like this. What if something happens?" he shouted, his voice muffled by the tinted windows.
Lingxi started the car, her voice barely audible through the glass. "You should have thought of that before you cheated. You should have thought of me before you betrayed me."
She screeched out of the driveway, leaving Haochen standing alone in the darkness.
Lingxi drove for two hours without direction, her tears streaming down her face. She was heartbroken and cursing silently, her knuckles white as she gripped the steering wheel. Finally, she saw a bar on the other side of the road and decided to stop for a drink.
As she entered the bar, the patrons stared at her, recognizing the famous model Lingxi. "Isn't that the celebrity model, Lingxi? What is she doing here?"They wanted to approach her, but her tear-stained face and pitiful expression stopped them. She looked so sorrowful that they couldn't bear to intrude on her pain.
Lingxi sat at the counter, burying her face in her hands and sniffing silently. The bartender approached her, his voice soft. "Miss, what can I get for you? You look like you could use a stiff drink."
Lingxi looked up, her eyes red and puffy. "Just a bottle of wine, please. The strongest one you have."
The bartender nodded sympathetically. "Coming right up. You know, if you need someone to talk to, I'm a good listener."
Lingxi smiled weakly. "Thanks, but I just need the wine."
As the bartender poured her a glass, Lingxi took a sip, feeling the alcohol burn down her throat. She closed her eyes, letting out a soft sigh as she savored the taste.
But the memories lingered, refusing to be washed away by the wine. Haochen's betrayal and Yueying's treachery replayed in her mind like a painful movie. Tears pricked at the corners of her eyes again, and she let out a soft sob.
