Chapter 4 - Ch-:4 Spiritualist

**After 3 Months**

Two people are fighting fiercely: Sogen and Mr. Rudriger. Mr. Rudriger acknowledges that Sogen has improved more than he expected over the past month. Sogen attributes his progress to Mr. Rudriger's training and the system resources. Since he began daily training with Mr. Rudriger, the system has been rewarding him daily, giving him 1,000 system coins for his training.

His thoughts were suddenly interrupted by Mr. Rudriger's voice. "Boy, you have already learned the basics of weaponry. That's all for today," he said. Sogen then made his way to his room. Once inside, he opened the system and said to himself, "Through my training over the last three months, I have reached the 'Earth Realm 4th Stage Peak.' I've received system coins and some basic knowledge books as daily rewards. I have learned about Basic Alchemy and Basic Poisons. Now I have almost 50000 system coins." He paused for a moment before reflecting that, despite having knowledge of alchemy, it wasn't particularly useful to him because alchemy was primarily practiced by Spiritualists.

Spiritualists are quite rare compared to energy cultivators. Unlike energy cultivators, Spiritualists don't cultivate energy; instead, they harness spiritual energy, which cannot be developed or cultivated but exists within a person from birth. To access spiritual energy, a person must open their spiritual meridians, akin to energy meridians, but it's much more challenging. For a regular person without resources, it can take anywhere from 10 to 20 years just to open one's spiritual meridians. If someone has very little spiritual energy, the years of practice won't be worth it. Only prominent clans possess the necessary resources to facilitate the development of a Spiritualist. Even the Vesga Clan, to which Sogen belongs, lacks the resources to nurture a Spiritualist. To hire a Spiritualist, they would have to spend a significant amount of gold coins and other valuable resources.

A Spiritualist is not just respected within an empire but across the entire continent. They can single-handedly turn the tide of a war by crafting various pills for their side.

Sogen sighed in hopelessness and said, "I don't even have a clan to support me. How can I open my spiritual energy meridians? Even if I have good talent, it will take a minimum of 6 to 7 years, and what if I don't have much spiritual energy? It would all be a waste of time." Sadness crept across his face as he felt helpless. Suddenly, a system notification popped up before him: "Host, do you want to open your spiritual meridians? Cost: 40,000 system coins. Yes or No." For a moment, Sogen was in shock, but as he grasped what was happening, his happiness knew no bounds. He realized that with the help of the system, he could easily open his spiritual meridians and he responded, "Yes." Another notification appeared: "Host, the process will be very painful. Do you still want to proceed?" With determination in his eyes, Sogen said again, "Yes."

As the process began, Sogen experienced unbearable pain. He gritted his teeth and endured it. After 30 minutes, the pain began to diminish, and after 4 hours, it completely subsided. However, Sogen remained in a lotus position, showing no signs of opening his eyes. After 2 hours, every object around him began to levitate.

Meanwhile, in the workshop, Mr. Rudriger wondered why Sogen had not come to work. He decided to check on him. As he opened the door to Sogen's room, he was amazed to see everything levitating before him. Surprised at first, his eyes then sparkled with joy. He waited there for 2 hours. When Sogen finally opened his eyes, all the levitating objects dropped to the ground suddenly. Overjoyed to see that his spiritual meridians had opened, Sogen then became worried upon noticing the state of his room and was even more shocked to find Mr. Rudriger staring at him.

Before Sogen could utter a word, Mr. Rudriger instructed him to clean the mess and meet him in the workshop before leaving. Sogen quickly tidied up, and after 10 minutes, he arrived at the workshop. He took a seat and began to work, but suddenly Mr. Rudriger called him over to his counter and asked, "Boy, are you from a big clan?" Taken aback by the unexpected question, Sogen calmed himself and explained that he was from the Vesga Clan but had been banished. Confused about why any clan would banish such a talented member, Mr. Rudriger asked for the reason behind Sogen's banishment. After training for several days under Mr. Rudriger, Sogen decided not to hide anything and shared all that had happened to him, except for the system.

Mr. Rudriger was even more astonished by this revelation. "So, boy, you're saying you were cursed, and by some miracle, you managed to remove it?" he said. Sogen refrained from mentioning the system, feeling it wasn't the right time and recognizing that it would be difficult to explain. Mr. Rudriger then asked about the name of the curse. At first, Sogen hesitated, but then he disclosed it: "The Curse of Beshmuth."

Mr. Rudriger stood up from his chair when he heard the mention of the curse and exclaimed, "What? The Curse of Beshmuth!" Sogen was surprised to hear this and asked if Mr. Rudriger knew about it. Mr. Rudriger replied, "Boy, this is not an ordinary curse. I once read about it in ancient texts, but there was not much information provided. It is said that this curse is nearly impossible to lift and affects a person for their entire lifetime."

He continued, "This curse is not cast through any physical body part or material object but is linked to a person's talent grade. It requires a huge amount of precious materials that are not easy to find. Even if the Baiso Empire pooled all its money and resources, they would still struggle to acquire even a few of these materials.

However, the most crucial factor is that it demands a minimum blood sacrifice from a 'Divine Realm' cultivator. Sogen listened intently, becoming even more astonished upon hearing about the necessity of a Divine Realm cultivator's sacrifice. In the entire Baiso Empire, there are only about three or four Destroyer Realm cultivators.
