Quinlan did not comment on the tone. He turned back toward the field instead.
Dragnar faced him squarely with massive arms folded.
"Thank you, Dragnar. Both of us learned something valuable here."
Lucille echoed the gesture without hesitation. "More than one thing!"
Dragnar regarded them in silence for a long moment, his gaze passing from Quinlan to Lucille and back again. Then he nodded once.
"See that it is not wasted," he decreed.
There was no farewell beyond that.
Quinlan turned away then, while Lucille remained. He left the training field behind.
Nyxara's presence shifted, attention refocusing as the surroundings changed.
"Go left here," she instructed.
He moved through familiar paths, then beyond them, the architecture gradually shifting as the ground gave way to darker lines and subtler curves and shadows that were layered. The air itself felt different here, quieter in a way that suggested watchful eyes rather than peace.
Soon, he arrived.
