Chapter 281 - Predictor's Plan

Because of Predictor, a big chaos spread all over Horizon Academy. As soon as the news got out, teachers panicked, and students ran through the hallways, gathering in groups and whispering. Everyone kept asking the same thing—what happened? Was Predictor okay?

Some of the teachers rushed to the classroom, while others tried to control the crowd of students. The whole school felt like it was on fire with panic.

Thankfully, the ambulance came very quickly. The staff helped carry Predictor's unconscious body to the stretcher. His face looked pale, his body cold. Many students watched in silence as the stretcher was taken away. Some even looked like they were about to cry.

Fabel, Sophie, and Diana were immediately questioned by the teachers. The teachers needed to know what had happened just before Predictor collapsed. But the three of them looked just as confused as the others.

They explained, "He was just sitting at his seat. His face suddenly twisted like he was in pain… and then he just fell down. We thought he was joking at first, but then he didn't move at all."

Some students came closer and started asking questions too, but the truth was—they knew nothing. None of them had done anything to him.

Soon, everyone's attention shifted toward only one thing—would Predictor be okay?

Time passed slowly, but the school finally got the news in the evening: Predictor had survived. He was safe and conscious now.

Fabel, Diana, and Sophie rushed to the hospital together, not even bothering to change their uniforms.

Fabel was the first one to enter the hospital room. As he pushed the door gently and peeked inside, he saw Predictor sitting upright on the hospital bed, leaning his back against the wall. He was wearing a light blue hospital uniform and looked completely fine.

Fabel sighed in relief and stepped in. "You're alright?"

Predictor turned his head and grinned, "Yeah. Doctor said it was like a mini heart attack. He told me to take it as a sign that I can have real heartattack in future and said not get too stressed about studies."

He let out a dry laugh and added, "Who's gonna tell him that I never took studies seriously in the first place?"

Just then, the door opened, and Diana and Sophie entered. Sophie's eyes were wide with concern. Her steps were quick as she rushed in, her soft voice shaky, "Daniel, are you alright?"

But before she could even reach the bed, she stopped in her tracks.

The bed was empty.

There was no one there.

Her eyes darted around in confusion until she heard a voice from behind.

"Don't come any closer. Keep at least ten meters distance or I'll run away!"

They all turned toward the window.

Predictor was there, standing beside it with his body slightly bent forward, one hand on the wall and the other ready to push it open. His expression was serious but clearly fake, as if acting in some cheap drama.

Sophie stood silently, her fists still clenched, her eyes glimmering with tears that hadn't yet fallen. Her voice was soft, trembling like a weak candle in the wind.

"I like dressing up… skirts, makeup… looking beautiful like a girl. I can't help it if I'm attracted to boys. It's not something I chose… it just happened."

She looked down, her shoulders shaking slightly as she tried to hold herself together.

"My mom died in a car accident when I was young… And then… when I started showing interest in feminine things, my dad threw me out like trash. Said I was disgusting. I thought you were different, but… you're just like him. Just because I'm a man."

Her voice cracked as she wiped the corner of her eye. "I even thought of getting surgery... to change everything… but i don't it'll be enough to change everything!",

Predictor, who had been leaning near the window like he was ready to jump out again, suddenly raised his hand straight up as if objecting in court.

"Hold on! Wait a second!" he said quickly. "I never said anything about you being gay! It's like… you're gay, and I'm reverse-gay!"

He nodded seriously. "Just keep ten meters distance, that's all I ask! I got no problem with gay people! I swear, no racism or whatever it's called. I'm just sensitive, alright?! And you have proof I'm not lying!"

His words were fast, his tone panicked but honest. He really didn't hate her—it was just that the idea of a boy liking him… gave him heart palpitations.

Sophie stared at him with red eyes, then slowly looked down, playing with her fingers.

"I-I understand," she said in a small voice. "But I really did like you for a long time... Maybe if we spent more time together, we could figure something out. You even kissed me, remember?" she said with a soft pleading voice, trying to smile, but it was broken and weak.

Predictor's eyes widened, and his hand immediately shot to his chest like lightning.

"Don't remind me! I might get another heart attack"

Fabel, who had been watching with folded arms, smirked and added cheekily, "You know, maybe you should give it a try once. You can't play games without a joystick."

Predictor snapped his head around. "You better shut up right now!" he shouted, more in embarrassment than anger, his voice slightly squeaky from the stress.

He took a deep breath, trying to calm himself. Slowly, he stepped away from the window and walked back to the hospital bed. He sat on the edge, rubbing his hands together, then looked at the three of them with a serious face.

"Let's forget all this drama for now," he said firmly. "Because I've got a plan. A big one. If we follow it, we can eliminate all five teams… and we won't even need to know who they are."

Fabel blinked, surprised. "You? A plan?"

Predictor closed his eyes with pride and rubbed his nose like a detective solving a case. "Didn't I say I'll take full responsibility if anything goes wrong?" He opened one eye and smiled slightly.

He looked at Sophie and asked with a confused but honest expression, "But before that… how should I address you? He or she?"

Before Sophie could say anything, Diana answered instead with a small smile, "Sophie likes being addressed as 'she' and 'her'."

———

Later, after Predictor told them his plan, everyone was surprised. The idea was smart—clever even. But then Fable crossed his arms and tilted his head, clearly thinking deeply.

"Wait… what if we tweak this part a bit?" Fable said as he began making changes. He explained it step-by-step, adding more spice to the plan.

It made the whole idea riskier, But more effective. Diana and Sophie exchanged nervous looks. It felt like walking on a thin rope over a big fire. But deep down, even they couldn't deny it—if it worked, they would win. No doubt about it.

———

The next day, Diana and Sophie didn't show up at school. Nor the day after that.

They were busy somewhere else—working with full focus and determination. They were preparing ingredients, mixing things carefully, and even sharpening a real axe.

Meanwhile, Predictor got discharged from the hospital and returned to school with Fable. They didn't take even a single day off and acted normal.

But inside, they were alert. On guard.

They knew that someone—some people—were watching them. Inside school. Outside school. Maybe everywhere. They couldn't afford to act strange or suspicious.

And ever since Predictor came back, students kept crowding around him, especially girls. They circled him like fireflies around a lantern, giggling and asking questions like:

"Are you okay now?"

"You look better than ever!"

"Was it really a heart attack?"

Predictor smiled politely. He waved it off. But inside, he was tired of all the attention. Still, he knew he had to keep pretending, Who knows one of them might be a hitman in training.

So, they placed their trust in Diana and Sophie. This time, it was their turn to carry the weight.

———

Three days passed.

By now, rumors were flying all over Horizon Academy.

People whispered in hallways. "Did you hear? Daniel is planning a big surprise for everyone... as a thank-you for their support, Also it's his birthday!"

No one knew what it was. But they were curious.

On the fourth day, as students entered the school, they noticed something strange.

Cute, fluffy red dolls were placed in the corners of the halls. Soft ribbons were tied here and there. Some lights hung gently, flickering like warm stars.

In the middle of it all, Sophie and Diana were walking around with serious faces, placing more dolls in certain spots.

Most students didn't dare talk to Diana—her calm, icy face scared them off.

But Sophie? She was approachable.

One girl came over and asked, "Is this the surprise? It's adorable already!"

Sophie laughed softly, her voice light and teasing. "Of course not! You know Daniel, right? He loves to make things over-the-top. This is just the start."

She picked up a doll and hugged it. "You can take one after it ends. These are special. Full of love and passion. You'll feel like your heart's exploding from cuteness."

Another girl giggled, "Wait, so he made all this alone?"

Sophie shook her head with a grin. "He dragged us into it. Said he needed help. So here we are!"

The girl smiled, "I'm looking forward to it then." She walked off, holding her books and her curiosity.

———

Inside the classroom, the physics teacher stood at the front, explaining something complicated about motion and energy.

But his eyes kept glancing at Daniel—Predictor.

It wasn't just students who were curious. Even the teachers had heard the rumors. They also heard that predictor's family was rich. Very rich. Some even thought he might donate something big or hold a huge event.

And right in the middle of the lesson, Daniel raised his hand.

"Teach," he said loudly, making everyone turn their heads. "Can I be punished for something I didn't do?"

The teacher looked at him with a calm smile, placing his chin on his hand like he was interested. "Of course not, Daniel. Why do you ask?"

Daniel leaned back in his seat, stretched his arms, and said with a half-smirk, "I didn't do my homework."

The physics teacher's lips twitched in frustration as he said, "Get out!"

"Okay!" Predictor quickly rushed out of the class, not bothering to say anything more.

"Hah! You could've just said you wanted to use the washroom," he thought to himself while walking away. "Why act so weird and mysterious? What kind of surprise is he planning anyway?"

But right after that, Sophie stood up from her seat and said, "Teach, Diana wants to go to the washroom. I need to go with her."

The teacher raised his eyebrows. "If she wants to go, she can tell me herself."

"Girl's problem," Sophie replied with a calm but serious face.

The teacher glanced at Diana, the quiet and introverted girl who barely spoke a word in class. It was clear she wouldn't say anything on her own.

With a sigh, the teacher adjusted his glasses. "Fine, you can go."

Sophie nodded, took Diana's hand, and both of them left the classroom together.

The class returned to normal, and the teacher resumed teaching. Time passed quietly. About fifteen minutes later, Fabel glanced down at his watch.

"It's time," he whispered under his breath.

He slowly stood up from his chair.

The teacher looked at him. "What now?"

Fabel didn't reply. He turned around, walked towards the window without a word, and then—without hesitation—jumped straight out of it.

"Wha—?!" Some students screamed in shock.

"That's the second floor! Has he gone crazy?!" the teacher shouted, rushing to the window.

But the next moment, something horrifying happened.

All the lifeless dolls placed around the room started to melt—like wax or plastic exposed to intense heat.

Then suddenly—

BAM!... BAM!... BAM!

One by one, the dolls exploded.

Screams echoed everywhere.

Chaos filled the classroom.

The explosions weren't huge enough to kill, but they were strong enough to throw people to the floor, injure many, and shatter windows. Those sitting near the walls were slightly safer, but even they were covered in dust and smoke.

----------

Outside the building, after jumping from the second floor, Fabel landed with a roll and dashed toward the school gate. There, he saw Predictor already waiting—holding a heavy axe. Sophie and Diana were standing beside him, each gripping a sharp knife tightly.

Behind them, the school shook with each explosion. Black smoke began rising from the windows.

"Cool, isn't it?" Predictor said, looking excited.

Fabel smirked and replied, "The real show is just starting."

RING!... RING!... RING!

The school's emergency alarm suddenly rang. In response, the fire sprinklers and water security system activated, spraying water everywhere—across halls, stairs, and classrooms.

But the moment the water touched the remains of the dolls—

BOOOOOM!!

BOOOOOM!!

Huge explosions erupted one after another. Fire burst through windows. Walls cracked. Pieces of concrete and metal were blown into the air. The sound was deafening.

It wasn't just normal explosions. The dolls had been filled with a dangerous mix of thermite, sodium, and other chemicals. The moment water touched them, it created an intense reaction. The temperature shot up to over 2500°C—hot enough to melt metal.

The peaceful school had turned into a battlefield of fire and smoke.

Predictor tightened his grip on the axe, eyes sharp and serious.

"Be ready," he said, his voice cold. "Kill anyone who comes out alive."

I know, this flashback feels too long and maybe boring, But I want to cover up everything so there will be nothing left to add anything about past, so no need for some one or two chapters of past in the middle of story
