Chapter 6 - The Strongest Trainer with His Relaxed Life : 6. Guardian of the Ruins

Unlike yesterday, when he immediately caught a green-quality Pokémon, this time Brian planned to explore every corner of the hidden garden.

As he walked toward the far end, the lush plants gradually gave way to a rocky terrain. There, nestled against the mountainside, he spotted a massive stone gate. Curiosity piqued, he ventured inside—Tangrowth at his side, giving him the courage to proceed.

To his surprise, the cave was home to many Earth- and Rock-type Pokémon. Along the way, he managed to catch a Roggenrola and a green-quality Rhyhorn. He was about to delve deeper when the ground suddenly shook. From the trembling earth emerged two imposing figures—one round-bodied with two muscular arms, the other a towering 8.8 meters in length. They were none other than Golem and Steelix.

GolemType: Rock/GroundGender: MaleAbility: Rock HeadQuality: BlueLevel: 60Skills: Defense Curl, Heavy Slam, Rock Polish, Rock Throw, Rock Blast, Earthquake, Double-Edge, Stone Edge

SteelixType: Steel/GroundGender: MaleAbility: Rock HeadQuality: BlueLevel: 60Skills: Crunch, Fire Fang, Ice Fang, Thunder Fang, Dragon Breath, Rock Polish, Rock Throw, Rock Blast, Earthquake, Double-Edge, Stone Edge

Brian felt the sheer pressure radiating from the two guardians. Tangrowth would have a hard time defeating both at once, but in a one-on-one battle, he was confident his partner could win.

An idea sparked. Brian ordered Tangrowth to use Ancient Power on Golem. The Rock-type sensed the incoming attack and prepared to retaliate, but Tangrowth quickly retreated. Golem, realizing there was no further threat, returned to its post.

Tangrowth struck again—this time enraging Golem enough to abandon its position and give chase. Once they were a safe distance from Steelix, Brian ordered another attack. His plan to separate them had worked perfectly.

"Bind!" Tangrowth's vines wrapped tightly around Golem, followed by Giga Drain. The drained energy made Golem lash out with Stone Edge.

"Dodge it, then use Giga Drain again—follow with Power Whip!" Brian commanded.

The repeated strikes wore Golem down, but it stubbornly retaliated with Double-Edge. Tangrowth tried to evade but still took a hit.

"You okay, Tangrowth?"

"Chuuu, chuuu!"

Seeing that Tangrowth was fine, Brian gave the final order. Another Power Whip landed, and this time Golem collapsed. Without wasting time, Brian threw a Poké Ball. It shook three times and clicked shut.

"Hahaha, another blue-quality Pokémon! Thanks, Tangrowth!"

"Chuuuu chuu!" Tangrowth beamed happily.

"Let's rest a bit before taking on Steelix."

"Cuuu chuuu."

After a short break, the two challenged Steelix. The battle was tougher and longer than the fight with Golem, but in the end, Brian triumphed—now the proud owner of two blue-quality Pokémon.

With the guardians defeated, he ventured deeper and discovered a massive chamber. His eyes lit up—this was a treasure vault. Gold coins, evolution stones, meteorites, and even two Mega Evolution Stones glittered before him.

He recalled that the Samyun Company had once offered 30 million Alliance coins for a meteorite the size of a fist. The one before him was the size of a human head.

Easily 70 million, Brian thought, grinning. He gathered every valuable item and left the hidden garden for home.

Upon arrival, he called his family together to show them his haul.

"This? I didn't know you had a knack for finding treasure," Leon remarked in surprise.

"Hahaha, our son truly is favored by the goddess of luck," Fiona said with a smile.

"Yes, brother, you're incredibly lucky," Rowan added.

"So, what do you plan to do with all this?" Leon asked.

"I'll sell the meteorite," Brian said. "With the money, I'll buy land—we can build a house, a Pokémon farm, a breeding center, and our shop there."

"Hm… since it's your decision, we'll support you," Leon replied.

The next day, Brian headed to Samyun Mall. At the entrance, a shopkeeper greeted him warmly.

"Can I help you, sir?"

"Yes, could you call your manager?"

"Is there a problem, sir? Any inconvenience?"

"No, nothing's wrong. I just have business with your manager."

Relieved, the shopkeeper went to fetch her. About five minutes later, she returned with an elegantly dressed woman.

"Hello, sir. I'm Ru Mei, the store manager. My employee said you wanted to discuss a business matter?"

"Yes," Brian said, showing her the meteorite. "I found this on an expedition. Would your company be interested in buying it?"

Ru Mei's eyes lit up. "Yes, our company collects items like this. Please wait while I contact our head office."

Ten minutes later, she returned. "Sir, may I ask where you obtained this?"

Brian hesitated. He had no intention of revealing the hidden garden's location—it still held many green-quality Pokémon, and he already considered it his territory.

"Sorry, I can't tell you that. Will your company buy it? If not, I'll sell it to the Alliance."

"We'll buy it. How does 100 million sound?"

Brian blinked. He had expected around 70 million.

Seeing his silence, Ru Mei grew uneasy. "How about 120? …130? …150?"

"This is the highest we can offer," she added.

Shaken from his surprise, Brian nodded. "Alright, deal."

Ru Mei smiled in relief. She could have paid up to 200 million, but even at 150, the company would make a solid profit.

The contract was signed, and the money transferred to Brian's account. At home, he informed his parents of the sale before heading upstairs.

Booting up his computer, he browsed the latest Pokémon news. One article claimed that Dragon-type Pokémon often found near meteorites could learn Draco Meteor.

Brian frowned. He didn't recall meteorites having such an effect in the anime or games—only that they helped Rayquaza achieve Mega Evolution.
