After sending off the two Consort Lan, Wufu stood up and went to the small compartment behind the Warm Pavilion, where Empress Dowager Mo was sitting, smiling at her.
Wufu saluted her and said, "Royal Mother, when did you come over?"
"Not long ago." Empress Dowager Mo looked at Wufu with eyes full of appreciation, extended her hand to her, and the two walked out of the compartment and sat down again outside.
The palace attendants removed the cups previously used by Consort Lan and her companion, and replaced them with Jade Cups, serving tea and refreshments to the two.
"I heard everything you said to them just now," Empress Dowager Mo remarked.
Wufu quickly replied, "Royal Mother, just listen and let it be. I was merely appeasing them, not harboring any intentions towards the Emperor."
Empress Dowager Mo soothingly patted her hand, "Don't worry, I didn't mean to criticize you. What you said was excellent, and you did very well!"
Wufu blinked.
