It was probably midnight.
Xu Si had the driver stop the car at the edge of the street. She got out, a Ginza platinum bag in hand, and walked into the stylishly decorated Whisky Bar, finding an empty seat at the counter.
She wore a long dress of a fine, flowing material that revealed slender, porcelain-white wrists, almost luminous. Over it, she had a long, structured leather jacket. It wasn't cold enough this season to need it for warmth; she wore so much merely to fend off the misty nights of Hong Kong Island.
Few could overlook Xu Si's face—brash and stunning.
The bartender, wiping barware with a clean cotton cloth, saw her sit down and nodded familiarly. His smile was a perfect blend of warmth and politeness.
"You're here again. What would you like to drink today? Or would you like to try something different?"
