This filled both Castle and the chubby guy with immense joy, and greatly deepened the impression Gianna and John had of Castle as they watched him replace the equipment.
Castle and the chubby guy didn't care about Gianna and John's opinions. They were engrossed in test-flying the drone, which now had genuine American military reconnaissance equipment. The military-grade gear was far superior to what they had been using, whether in high altitudes or during flight.
Additionally, with the latest satellite receiver control unit installed, the drone's responsiveness was even better than before, thanks in part to the excellent control code Castle had meticulously written himself.
To test the military reconnaissance equipment at night, Castle and the chubby guy continued until dark before reluctantly putting away their gear. Gianna, now pregnant and idle, had joined their small group and found great enthusiasm due to boredom. After Gianna's pregnancy was confirmed, old D'Antonio took over family matters, rejuvenated by the news of a new generation in the D'Antonio family. He now had a new lease on life, determined to see the birth of the third generation before he died.
With Gianna designated as the D'Antonio family heir, she was temporarily relieved of all duties to focus on delivering a healthy baby. However, accustomed to handling family affairs herself, Gianna couldn't stay idle. Encouraged by her father and John, she handed back her powers to her father and planned to rest in the scenic, seaside Long Island estate.
But Castle had dropped a bombshell after she arrived in New York. Gianna couldn't believe that Castle handed the significant task of monitoring Vincent to the chubby guy living in her estate.
Besides Castle and the chubby guy, Gianna had only met the bald dwarf Mozzie. She knew Neil Caffrey, a world-class art thief, was also part of their group but restricted by an FBI ankle monitor to a two-mile radius around Manhattan. She hadn't met Alex, the last member of the team, either. Used to having everything under her control, Gianna found this unacceptable. With nothing else to do, she took over the coordination and command of this operation, finding it better than being idle.
However, she soon realized the black-market operation she had high hopes for was incredibly rudimentary. Besides knowing Vincent's real objective and that he had prepared a salvage ship for the submarine off the New York coast, they knew nothing about the timeline, personnel, or other details. Gianna couldn't understand how Castle could confidently claim they would rob the treasure from Vincent after he salvaged the submarine.
Unable to tolerate this, Gianna learned from the chubby guy about the warehouse Vincent's group rented in New York Harbor and took over command without hesitation. Castle, upon learning of Gianna's interest, consulted Neil, Mozzie, and Alex, who all agreed. He happily delegated the task to Gianna, instructing her to notify him once she learned of Vincent's salvage timing, especially when the submarine was recovered.
Gianna's organizational skills transformed the chaotic operation into a well-coordinated plan. She had the chubby guy operate the drone to monitor Vincent's Panamanian-registered salvage ship 24/7. Any movement would trigger immediate action, as Gianna knew the ship was the key to Vincent's plan.
She sent her most capable bodyguard, Mr. Night Demon, to the warehouse to plant hidden cameras. The chubby guy was instructed to keep a close watch on Vincent to prevent any tricks.
Finally, Gianna's command brought order to the operation. The chubby guy couldn't help but wonder if his uncle Rick's previous messy plans had any chance of succeeding.
The formidable Mr. Night Demon, not a strategist but a hands-on operator, now ran errands, out-ranked by the chubby guy operating the drone. This former killer seemed to enjoy the calm, watching his wife boss the chubby guy around while he played along, viewing it all as a game.
Today, Castle arrived at the estate to upgrade the drone's reconnaissance kit, prompted by the chubby guy's message. Understanding Gianna's arrangements, Castle admitted that her formal training far outstripped his makeshift planning.
Following Gianna's strategy, Vincent's group was now under complete surveillance. Phones, computers, and drones, along with hidden cameras installed by John, kept Vincent constantly monitored. Castle admired how Gianna's forces outmaneuvered Vincent's security effortlessly.
Vincent, unaware of the surveillance, believed his plan was secure. He didn't know he was starring in a live reality show, entertaining the pregnant woman at the estate.
With the latest reconnaissance equipment installed, one drone hovered steadily at 5,000 meters above the docked salvage ship, using night surveillance gear to monitor the vessel. Thanks to the equipment from Mark, the technical director at Northrop Grumman, the drone's precision and clarity revealed that the ship seemed to be preparing for departure.
