"Honestly, not even a lunatic would have done what you just did."
Azriel found himself seated on the warm, nostalgic sofa of his own home, or rather, not quite his own, but Leo Karumi's, to be precise.
"Am I not... dead?" Dazed, Azriel looked around, finding Leo Karumi himself seated directly across from him.
"Oh, but you are. You are very much dead."
Azriel looked at Leo, his expression thick with vexation.
"Do not tell me this is hell."
"Pfft!" Leo let out a short laugh, waving a hand while a sour grin spread across his face. "No, you are not there yet. Even if you were, not even the devil would be foolish enough to get close to you. I would wager even the gods fell straight off their mighty thrones watching you bite off your own tongue and swallow it, just to blow your own heart to bits."
There was a mocking edge to his tone, but Azriel was not quite listening. He glanced around the room before looking down at his own chest and patting it lightly.
