Chapter 19 - 19. agreement

"It's fine, just imagine me as one of your employees," Phoenix told him.

Perry stretched out his hand towards her. She warmly accepted it. He led her to the couch and sat opposite her.

"Do you mind for anything?" He asked.

"No thanks, I'm fine." She said without hesitation.

" I want to go straight to the point, but I'm sorry for not honouring your invitation yesterday. I was worked up and the headache also settled in." Phoenix rephrased what Anna had delivered earlier.

Perry quietly observed her features. She looked neutral without a blemish.

He had really expected her yesterday. It didn't go well with him because of her.

Well...

He holds no agenda to be mad with her. Health matters in all things. He was glad she was doing well and, most especially, had driven all the way to Stylish.

"I have no right to be mad at you for yesterday's event. You needed rest and that's all that matters."

"Thanks for understanding," Phoenix felt a quick beat in her chest. She stared at the man opposite her, he looked natural. He gets her. She has never experienced this before.

What was he?

"I came here for the contract signing. I know I could have just sent Anna," she lowered her voice.

"To make things clear and make amends for yesterday."

Perry didn't take his eyes off her. Is she being shy right now?...

That was fascinating.

"Perry..." She was a little hesitant.

"Phoenix,"

"Yes,"

"Formal things later," he assured her.

"I have read your terms and conditions." Phoenix recomposed herself.

"I'm alright with it." She didn't want to waste another second.

"You're my first collaboration and I'm sure I won't regret it."

"I saw this lady company and I thought to myself, how I never noticed it," Perry said with a chuckle.

"Phoenix, I thought Stylish and FACE would be a perfect couple. What do you say?"

"Yes,"

Phoenix knew she wasn't going to regret it. Perry was a nice guy and their companies are going to do just fine.

"Agreement is an agreement." Perry was on his feet pouring wine into two glasses. He handed one to her.

"Cheers," they clinked their glasses.

"Now that I have cleared up things with you, I have to make it up to you," Phoenix announced. First time she was going to invite someone apart from Wilma and her guy to her place.

"Tonight, dinner at my place." She smiled at her companion.

Perry returned the smile. It looked genuine.

Phoenix forgot to breathe for an instant. This guy, just now___, was he making her feel human?

Is this the start of something between them?

Phoenix did not know what to do.

She looked trapped by the guy's clear thoughts.

"Come here." Perry realised Phoenix looked pale. She wasn't breathing. He made her sit in his seat, something that nobody has ever dared to do. Though, Perry wasn't the type to pick on people and talk crazy, nobody dared to mess with him.

He began to rub his hand on her back. Trying to free her from any setback. Then his hands worked wonders on her shoulders.

Perry massaged Phoenix's shoulders up and down the area.
