Chapter 308 Cats and Purrs
"Oh, um, sure, you can have a turn," Cecelia said hesitantly, her gaze lingering longingly on the cat. She withdrew her hand, and Liam picked up the cat and brought it over to Stella, who was eagerly waiting with outstretched hands. He repeated the instructions he had given to Cecelia. Stella understood and nodded before she began to pet the cat. As she did, the cat purred, and that sound seemed to attract the other cats in the alley.
As Aleshia watched the scene unfold, she felt a warm sensation growing within her, intensifying with each heartbeat. Almost instinctively, her body began to move. Slowly, she knelt and gestured for the cats to come closer. As they approached, she stretched out her arms, and the cats gathered around her. Enveloped in their warmth and softness, Aleshia's consciousness took a backseat as she melted into their embrace.
As Stella gently petted the cat in Liam's arms, Brian examined it closely, mentally checking the marks to ensure it was similar enough to the one they were replacing.
As this was happening, Liam occasionally adjusted his arms to ensure the cat wouldn't fall. "I've checked this one over plenty. There shouldn't be any difficulties passing this one off, as it is quite docile," he admitted.
"Good." Brian surveyed the party, noticing the sight of the cats swarming around the witch girl who had joined their camp. She had quickly improved the camp in such a short time, and it was interesting to see how the cats responded to her presence. It sparked his curiosity, but he decided to let the girl enjoy the moment without interruption, not wanting to disturb the scene.
Cecelia did not share Brian's feelings when she saw the scene and was instead left feeling envious of Aleshia's situation. Gradually, she made her way over and quietly took a seat next to Aleshia. Cecelia believed that the cats would eventually come closer out of curiosity, and her assumption proved to be correct. Meanwhile, the rest of the party watched the unfolding events with warmth.
After watching for a while, Kelly grew curious and joined Aleshia and Cecelia in petting the friendly cats, which drew her into the cat craze as well.
Once everyone had enjoyed their rest, Brian concluded the session and called the group to return to the noble's estate. The three who had been cuddling with the cats were reluctant to leave, but in the end joined the rest of the group.
