Chapter 255 Mischief
Fayre continued walking through the camp, admiring the surroundings. After a while, Aleshia stopped following her and headed to her usual sleeping spot. When Fayre looked over her shoulder, she noticed Aleshia was no longer behind her. She hurried in Aleshia's direction. Once again, Aleshia told her that she was going to bed, leaving Fayre to her own devices as she closed the door.
As Aleshia prepared to lie down, she pondered the likely future with Lucia. "So, when do you think she will conk out? Should we help her, or let her fall on her own and hope she doesn't hit her head?" Aleshia asked, concern in her voice. "After all, falling on your head can be very dangerous, even from a short distance."
"Don't worry too much about it. I suppose I'll watch Fayre while you get some rest. Human bodies need that, or so I've heard recently," Lucia said, her maw twisting into a mischievous grin just out of sight.
Lucia hopped off Aleshia's head, planning to cause some mischief. Meanwhile, Aleshia covered herself with a blanket and nodded off.
Lucia found Fayre and trailed her for a while. It seemed that she hadn't noticed her lurking around yet. However, that was about to change, as Lucia planned to play a trick on her. She began to conjure a gentle breeze to ruffle Fayre's hair, manipulating the wind so that it focused on a specific spot, creating the illusion that she had passed through a ghost. It appeared that her carefully crafted scheme was successful, as Fayre shrieked, "Gwah!" before quickly covering her mouth to avoid waking the children.
Lucia hadn't considered the children, but after noticing them around Fayre, she reconsidered when and where to play her prank. The timing didn't seem right anymore, as Fayre was shaking like a leaf.
In her mind, Lucia wondered, 'Did I go too far?' Despite her doubts, Fayre composed herself and continued to explore the other rooms. Meanwhile, Lucia was plotting her next prank. This time, she made sure there were no children nearby, focusing solely on her intended target. Lucia created ice and used the wind to spread the cold air around Fayre. At first, Fayre didn't notice the change, but she quickly began to feel the drop in temperature.
Goosebumps formed on Fayre's skin as she slowly turned around. Lucia didn't want the cold to overwhelm the room, so she stopped the flow of cold air. While Lucia was distracted, it seemed Fayre discovered what was responsible for everything happening to her.
