The Sand Village and the Mist Village, due to their relatively remote and awkward locations, found it much harder to mobilize quickly.
The Sand Village was in a slightly better position. Despite being poor, at least Rasa had the determination and drive to act.
The Mist Village, on the other hand...
A village where even the Mizukage was controlled by genjutsu—what could you really expect from them?
As the villages began to take action, among the five great villages, all except Konoha sent strong teams of shinobi to infiltrate the Land of Rain.
Their goal was to conduct targeted investigations into the Akatsuki.
This was exactly what Konoha wanted to see!
Why did they share such valuable information and even sell it?
Wasn't it to stir up trouble for the Akatsuki?
Let's see how long the Akatsuki can hold out!
Once the five great villages suffer significant losses or come to understand the true power of the Rinnegan, the real show will begin.
Putting aside the matters of the Land of Rain and the Akatsuki, the long-planned joint Jonin exams hosted by the Cloud Village finally arrived.
Many small countries and villages were invited to watch, and the Cloud Village's intentions were clear.
If they were going to flex their muscles, they were going to do it in style.
They invited numerous small countries and villages to serve as spectators, while using the other four great villages as stepping stones to showcase their own strength.
As for where the Cloud Village's confidence came from, Kazuki admitted he was a bit puzzled.
But soon, Kazuki understood why the Cloud Village was so confident.
"I miscalculated. I should have suggested to the Hokage that we bring two female teammates for this exam."
Looking at the three participants from the Cloud Village, Kazuki sighed.
Kakashi. "...."
Shisui. "....."
There weren't many participants in the exam. Each of the five great villages sent three shinobi, making a total of fifteen participants.
However, the Cloud Village's team stood out because all three members were women.
Yugito, Mabui, and Samui.
These three were among the most talented and attractive kunoichi in the Cloud Village, and they had all shown up.
The Mist Village was led by Mei Terumī.
The Rock Village also had a female participant.
Even the Sand Village had a woman on their team. Only Konoha had three men standing together.
Kazuki had never been particularly fond of women with darker skin tones, as the saying goes, "Fair skin can hide many flaws, while dark skin can ruin everything."
But today was an exception.
The exam hadn't started yet, and the participants from the five villages were gathered in their respective areas, sizing each other up.
"I feel like the Konoha team is up to no good."
Yugito, the Two-Tails jinchūriki, noticed Kazuki's gaze lingering on her and her teammates. She mistakenly thought he was trying to gather intelligence by observing them.
She quietly warned Mabui and Samui, while shooting a glare in Kazuki's direction.
"Every village will send their strongest new generation shinobi to participate in the exam. The Konoha team is indeed not to be underestimated."
Mabui, who was responsible for gathering intelligence, whispered.
"Uchiha Shisui made a name for himself during the Third Great Ninja War. The title 'Shisui The Teleporter' was built on the corpses of countless enemies. Kakashi, the Copy Ninja, is no less formidable. As for Uchiha Kazuki, he doesn't seem as impressive as the other two. But he is the youngest elder of the Uchiha clan and an advisor to the Hokage. He's also the team leader. I think he might be the most troublesome one."
From the moment the participants entered the Cloud Village, intelligence gathering had already begun.
Information about Kazuki, Kakashi, and Shisui had long been collected by the other villages.
"Then I'll take him on," Yugito said confidently.
"Don't underestimate our opponents, Yugito."
Samui, who had been silent until now, spoke up, reminding Yugito not to underestimate their opponents and risk losing.
On Konoha's side, Kazuki reviewed the intelligence gathered by Shisui and Kakashi and said to them.
"We can ignore the Sand Village and the Rock Village. The participants they sent are average. The ones we need to watch out for are the Cloud Village and the Mist Village. For the Mist Village, pay special attention to Mei Terumī. That woman is no pushover. As for the Cloud Village... just be careful with Yugito. But honestly, she's not much of a threat to us."
Kazuki felt like Konoha was just going through the motions in this exam, using it as an opportunity to bully and demoralize the other teams.
Just look at the opponents!
The Sand Village and the Rock Village? Kazuki outright ignored them.
The Mist Village? Well, Mei Terumī was decent, but only decent!
The other two teams weren't even worth mentioning!
As for the Cloud Village, only Yugito, the Two-Tails jinchūriki, was worth paying attention to.
The other two? Kazuki admitted they had good looks and figures, but their strength? Meh.
It wasn't that Kazuki was being arrogant, but with such a strong hand, how could they possibly lose?
Was he being overconfident?
Kakashi couldn't help but sweat, wanting to say something. But when he noticed Shisui nodding in agreement, he swallowed his words.
Alright, if you two are so confident, then I'll leave the intelligence gathering and fighting to you.
I, Kakashi, will just follow orders.
Kazuki outright dismissed the other villages, and Shisui shared the same mindset.
Kakashi felt overwhelmed and decided to just go with the flow.
Whatever happens, happens. I'm not the team leader, so if we lose, it's not entirely my fault.
"Please take your seats. The exam will begin shortly."
As the time approached, the proctors arrived and directed the participants from the five villages to their assigned seats, handing out the exam papers.
Looking at the papers on the table, Kazuki couldn't help but feel exasperated. No matter which world you're in, you can't escape dealing with these things. At least cheating was an option.
Without much preamble, the proctor simply said a few words and announced the start of the exam.
As for cheating? Everyone knew it was happening, as long as you didn't get caught.
Kazuki didn't bother wasting time on the exam. He just copied.
He combined Kakashi's and Shisui's answers, tweaked them a bit, and filled in his own paper. Since the proctors couldn't catch him, he cheated to his heart's content.
"This guy."
From the start, Kazuki had been idle, waiting for his teammates to finish writing before he started.
And his answers were almost identical to theirs. The proctor knew Kazuki was cheating, copying from his teammates.
But he had no idea how Kazuki was doing it, so he could only increase patrols in the area.
Unfortunately, it was useless.
When it came to written exams, Kakashi and Shisui were top-notch. Kazuki just copied their answers, and he was guaranteed to do well.
