Today was the first day in a week I was attending school and I don't feel too enthusiastic. Cyrus and Natalie seemed to be waiting for me at the school gate.
Cyrus spotted me when I stepped out of the car and waved and I saw Natalie gaze turned towards me with a smile
"good morning" she greeted hooking her arm around mine
"morning" I answered turning to Cyrus who stroked my hair. it was an habit and I have given up complaining.
We walked into the school Natalie chatting with excitement.
"I saw an announcement on the forum" she paused taking out her phone "it says there would be an inspection today. we are having an important guest coming to inspect"
I frowned slightly
"i also heard he is a prominent figure in the business world. a CEO of a famous company" he grip tightened on my hand a little "I am so excited" she beamed.
I couldn't help rolling my eyes at her.
"what so great about it?" Cyrus spoke, his voice laced with disdain
"what do you know" she pouted her face showing clear dissatisfaction
We arrived at my and Natalie's class. I spotted Marilyn seemingly waiting for someone which I guessed should be me.
Her gaze turned to me and she has a smile. "sister, how have you been?" she stepped forward intending to grab my arm so I sidestepped, causing her to stumble but managing to get a hold of herself.
"sister" she muttered, full of grievance. I was used to her hypocrisy.
someone spoke up sarcastically "Charlotte don't you think you are too much. Marilyn was only worried about you, why did you push her away".
"do...don't say that, my sister didn't mean it" Marilyn spoke seemingly trying to defend me but adding fuel to the fire.
I couldn't be bothered with her.
"you are just to naive Marilyn" another person Sadie spoke with a sigh, her gaze filled with resentment towards me.
I took my seat, Natalie next to me.
"sister, dad instructed me to tell you to behave yourself since we are having guests in the school. he also said..." she lowered her voice, sighing " he said he won't clean up your mess anymore"
"any thing else?" I spoke clearly uninterested
she shook her head with a sigh turning around before walking away, looking said.
"her face disgust me" Natalie spoke beside me and I let out a chuckle
"I thought it was only me"
