Chapter 3 - Chapter 0. Part 2 | Still at the funeral and some explanations

After the priest finished reading the final words of the prayer, the burial ritual was complete. People still stood around—some came up to offer their condolences and try to somehow comfort me, while others after some time just left the cemetery without saying anything.

I said nothing to any of that, ignoring the outside world completely. I didn't want to engage with any of those fuckers, didn't even want to share the same air with them. I knew that eventually, they too would become victims—of a car accident or some other tragic fate.

But unfortunately, for now, all of them—perhaps with a few exceptions—were still useful to me and my future plans. And with my new power, which opened up endless ways for self-improvement and power gain, I was confident that not a single person on earth could harm me, let alone stop me.

Speaking of power, hmm... I glanced at the semi-transparent display that appeared before my eyes the very moment I thought about it.

[Stats]

[Gacha Shop]

[Gacha Roll]

[Inventory]

[Quests]

[Servants]

The moment this thing—this "system," as I came to understand it's called—appeared in my life, I initially thought I was hallucinating and I needed to see a doctor to check if I had lost my mind.

But after some time, I came to realize that it wasn't some illusion—this system was very real and offered me incredible possibilities. It worked something like this: in the [Quests] tab, there were a lot of tasks and missions to complete, and in return, I earned a currency called "Gacha Points." I could then spend these points in the tabs [Gacha Roll] and [Gacha Shop]

The number of points I receive from missions naturally depends on their difficulty. The easiest quest—the one I was completing every day till now—was simply running. For every kilometer I ran, I was awarded 1,000 points.

This quest is always active, but it had a limit — after 10 kilometers, it would lock and only reset the next day.

And so, by running laps around my father's mansion — now mine — I managed to accumulate 50,000 Gacha Points in just five days. It wasn't nearly enough to buy anything from the System Shop because the prices there were just astronomical, but it did earn me five Gacha rolls.

Gacha rolls were simple: you pay 10,000 Gacha Points to spin an illusory wheel of fortune. Anything could appear on it— items from real world, system points, and also things from something called "JoJo."

I had no idea what JoJo was, but according to the user manual, it was some kind of parallel world where things were... far more bizarre than in ours. Whatever that means.

From a single roll, you can get up to five items. Each items that could drop from the Gacha were classified by rarity.

Null-tier is pretty self-explanatory. It's literally nothing. Zero, zip, zilch, nada. Those were rare but still can appear

Bronze-tier items had the highest drop rate. These were the most random of the the things—mostly useless, offering little to no real value. The only things that could somewhat interest me in this tier were cards that gave me minor physical boosts to my body and points—although the highest amount I've gotten so far is 500.

Silver-tier items were rarer and more useful. Naturally they had a lower drop rate than bronze ones. Starting from this tier, I could obtain an items called a Stands cards, characters cards and upgrade cards

Now, one by one—Stands.

From what I understood from the information, Stands are physical manifestation of the person's life energy and fighting spirit. Each Stand has unique abilities which can range from simple super strength and speed to more crazy powers like controlling time, manipulating fundamental laws of the world, or affecting other people's minds and souls. Only Stands and Stand users can see and interact with Stands (With some exceptions—those fully physically manifested, they are are completely visible to normies). Aslo any damage dealt to the Stand is reflected back onto the person controlling it.

If the user is harmed or unconscious, the Stand might become weaker or disappear. A Stand can act on its own to some extent, but it usually follows the will of its master.

They even have their own stats which are rated on a scale from 0 to 10.

Power — How physically strong the Stand is. This shows how hard it can hit

Speed — How fast the Stand can move

Range — The distance the Stand can operate from its master. Some Stands can only work very close, while others can act far away.

Durability — How much damage the Stand can take.

Precision — How accurately the Stand can control its movements and abilities.

Development Potential — The most interesting. This shows how much the Stand can grow or improve over time, including learning new abilities. So far, every Stand I've pulled from the Gacha has had a perfect 10 out of 10 in that stat — which is definitely good for me.

Then we heve Character cards

They function like a kind of a summon of peaple and creatures from this Jojo world — but with a few added things.

When I receive a character card, I can choose to summon the character into my service — which unlocks a new tab called [Servants]. Through it, I'll be able to monitor the stats and status of my future subordinates. None of the characters I summon can harm me directly.

But instead of summoning a character, I can also—kind of—"absorb" them. By doing so, I gain everything these characters possess—both physically and spiritually, which, fortunately, doesn't seem to affect my sense of self. That's a relief—I definitely wouldn't want to accidentally absorb some random goody-two-shoes and start acting this way. Ugh

And last but not least. Upgrade cards

In my opinion, these are some of the most useful things i can get from Gacha—and here's why:

They allow me to selectively evolve and enhance what I already have. That includes myself, characters cards and Stands.

There are two types of these cards:

[Hidden Potential Card] - Unlocks new abilities and enhances the power and effectiveness of existing ones. This also applies to base stats and skills

[Evolution Card] – Weakens or completely removes anything the user perceives as a limitation or weakness.

That's about it. Naturally, Silver-tier cards aren't all-powerful—because there are still two higher tiers:

[Gold] and [Platinum] — the rarest drops in the Gacha, offering near-divine rewards, including everything available in the lower tiers, just buffed on max level.

The system also has a "transfer" feature. This means I can give any item I receive to other people. For example, if I buy a Stand card and give it to someone, they'll be able to summon and use it.

Though, to be honest, I haven't felt the slightest desire to do that, and there are several reasons why.

First and foremost—trust. Until I'm 100% certain that a person is completely loyal to me i'm not gonna do this. This isn't about fear—it's just a caution, healthy paranoia if you may. There's no way I'm handing someone i don't trust a gun they could eventually point at me.

Another reason is closely tied to the first—personal power. Until I gain strength that can easily overpower anyone and everyone, I won't be able to fully trust anyone.

So for now, I'll focus on maximizing my own power gain and building a network of valuable people who could become ''allies'' in the future.

Only then will I start throwing around power left and right like some damn Santa Claus gifts.

But moving on from that, I got so caught up explaining my current bizarre situation that I forgot to tell you what I actually pulled from my very first Gacha Rolls.

It was partly unlucky, but only partly. My first attempt out of five was the worst one.

Five Null slots. It was really disappointing.

Thankfully, on the second roll I got something really good

[Gold-tier Stand card: Wonder of U]

Humanoid Stand with robotic features. It has a large torso but thin, tubular arms with multiple joints at the elbows and waist. The head is a flattened oval shape, with a face featuring two coin-like eyes and numerous ringed ridges. It's wearing a long dark coat with patterns that look like mini-suns, yellow scarf and a black hat. Also holds a cane in one of its hands.

Stats-

Power: 4

Speed: 9

Range: 10

Durability: 10

Precision: 5

Development Potential: 10

Abilities:

Attraction of Misfortune - Wonder of U automatically causes extreme misfortune to anyone who attempts to chase or harm him or his master. This misfortune is not limited to physical damage but includes accidents, bad luck, and seemingly impossible disasters.

It works almost like a "curse" that makes its enemies fail in their actions or suffer catastrophes. It can manipulate the environment to cause traps or fatal outcomes indirectly.

Unstoppable Pursuit - If someone tries to attack a stand user, Wonder of U relentlessly pursues that person. No matter where the target goes, the Stand will appear and bring misfortune to them.

Invulnerability - Wonder of U itself is very difficult or impossible to damage. Attempts to harm the Stand fail because the misfortune it spreads prevents attackers from succeeding. This makes it nearly invincible.

Weaknesses - Wonder of U's power only triggers against those who pursue or attack it and its user. It does not target random people or bystanders.

That's pretty much everything I got from the five gacha rolls. And while most of the items were useless, except for the mask, I didn't feel sad at all.

The two Stands I received alone have already placed me far above most people in this world. And with the those upgrade cards, I was able to rise even higher....
