"I only stepped out for a while because he told me that I was scaring off the guests, so I went took my lunch and came back, and when I did, they were gone."
The pink-haired head bobbed back and forth.
"..."
"Don't worry, she enjoys it. I don't even think it's even viable to be a punishment at all."
It never looks right, no, it can never be, actually what luck do I have to be always looking at this...
"Could you be having a clue to where they went?"
"Huh?"
"... do you," she pulled in both sides of her huge coat to a close before she continued, "have a clue as to where they went?"
"... you could hop by the guards or the generator, but not to be rude, why are you actually..."
she looks flushed, maybe she's in a good...
!
"... never mind."
"What? And why are you looking at me like that, I thought you already got used to it?"
I don't think it's enough.
"Whatever, at least I'm not grumpy today,"
"...yay...,"
"... goodbye Berg,"
"...good, bye."
"He's only lucky because he's watching over us," the doors to the morgue flew shut on their backs thanks to a huge gust of wind, the narrow slit between the doubles sealed in a sheet of pale blue ice.
His snout raised in the air, he got a familiar whiff,
"Bubblegum?"
"There are snacks down here?"
"No, it's just that there is... never mind."
They had been going on strong now at what seemingly was their umpteenth step, the globe of light before them shining a path that wound more and more the deeper, they went, even the walls of the spiral steps seemed worn out as they were, yearning for rest.
"Are we there yet? I feel tired already."
"Just fifteen more and we'll be there...,"
"...you said that fifteen steps earlier."
"...Just two more and you're done dear," "I just took two already, I'm full mum, please,"
The two corners of his mouth slightly went up.
[Activation of the First Law has been cancelled.]
"...It's fifteen and that's it...,"
"GIONNE STOP!"
Gionne in incredible action, held Ripha back, his hand, partially transformed to hold the huge figure back, and while he was able to catch Park in good time, his foot had already gone through. He quickly yanked Park back, catching the entire group unawares.
Well, all except one person,
"You're going to tear the poor guy apart, well not that he will, but still," "Where are you taking us? sorry! "
Park flexed his arm trying to soothe a soreness that was slowly creeping in.
"I may have pulled a mean joke, I apologize," "What joke?" Park followed up.
Anu took a small chunk of earth and muttered a spell into it. He blew the fine particles and as they were carried by a wind up the stairs, they encountered a series of invisible barriers that made them go off in red sparks, concealed worn out runes above glowing in sync, color and all. Park looked at the ceiling ahead of him, the full character rune, still a faint shimmer of red.
"That's because it's still fresh, and also because I maintain it," "So, you wanted to test it on us?"
"... no?"
"There he goes again," Ripha sighed inwardly as he remembered how the current scene looked familiar to one that he just had with Anu not too long ago. Suddenly without warning, Anu dashed past the barrier, and along with him, Park surrounded by a film of dark energy with a brown tinge to it. The other two immediately got into action, Gionne and Ripha feeling a mix of emotions from Anu's sudden behavior.
"Get behind me," Gionne transformed into a huge feline-like behemoth, his usual pale skin replaced by a shade of green and crisscrosses of patchworks throughout his entire being, he instinctively reached out beyond the rune mark braving for the worst to happen but yet another joke had been played on them. No sting, no reaction, nothing. They looked at each other befuddled as Gionne easily passed through. Ripha also, albeit a little doubting, also made his way through. He did not waste time, stumbling over words on how easy that was as he had to immediately start catching up with Gionne who was already on Anu's tail.
"It seems they broke through, and one doesn't look so happy," "pranks aren't usually welcomed, now, are they?"
"Well, you for one, look calm," "Hope. Hope is all I can say,"
[The First Law of The ----- Print has been activated]
A short silence fell between them, "... why are you doing this...?"
It was instantaneous,
"For a place that heals, it's more dead than alive and I wanted to change that. So, that's why I'm doing this,"
"Ooh Okay,"
What?!
An eye glided across his arm, making Anu chuckle a bit.
"It's really sad it was short lived,"
The ripples on the wall's surface danced to and from her head, the bricks warbled, as the rings bounced from the wall's corners to its edges and back. She giggled as Gretsa pulled her back, the sudden motion greatly disturbing the "live" wall but only for a moment as it shortly after went still.
"...Are you now ready to go after them? P.S the little guy looks scared, it's as if he knew he did something he shouldn't have."
Gretsa could see the faint line of energy rising from the slightly trembling chains, she stared down the piece of metal but was lost in thoughts.
"Hello! Earth to Gretsa or whatever this place is, do you copy?!"
"...Let's go," She held the tiny hand, leading her out of the building. They were just past the doors when,
"Where are we going?"
"I just thought of a wonderful present to give to them," and to me too.
Flashing a smile to her friend, Gretsa and her bubblegum-scented friend, off they went to prepare gifts for their friends below, who currently,
"Is this the reason as to why you brought me here?"
"So, they all shake hands with you, interesting, why, but interesting,"
"Where did they go?"
They were just hot on their tail just a few seconds ago, just catching a glimpse of them as they disappeared beyond a wall.
Now all that remains is an impact dent on the old but surprisingly sturdy bricks.
"It seems we have a real prankster on our hands, and...," lily materialized into form walking over to Ripha who was inspecting the wall, "... call me curious, shocker, but why did you tell our dear 'friend' thank you back then? I have my theories, but I want to hear it from your mouth instead, after all we're friends now, aren't we?"
"Something as we wait for the two to come back," Gionne cozied up at the foot of one the brick walls, his back slightly cushioned by the greenery that grew over the rocks. His ears, up and alert, readied themselves to the forthcoming story whilst also relieving himself of the usual fatigue that comes with his other self.
"I guess I can start from the very beginning-,"
"And that would be greatly appreciated," Lily interjected right back.
Maybe that wasn't a good idea.
