Drey's POV:
" Yeah,so what next?". I voiced in the calmest voice I could muster. You could call it the calm before the storm voice.
" Well, let's just go with the flow. Jade will remain outside the enemy camp and guide us while you and I head in".
" Jade".
"Un".
" You set?".
" More than ever. Ready to kick'em up the ass".
" It's not time for making jokes Jade". Max said while I scoffed.
" I'm not a joker man right. Really set to f**k'em motherf**need".
" Found your base yet?". I said, successfully stopping them from arguing further.
" Yeah, just did. But I gotta set up the anti-hack chip. Just a moment".
He brought out his laptop and started typing away.
" Don't we look ridiculous, sitting under a shade and playing with our handphones. We look like highschool kids ditching class".
" Exactly the look I was aiming for. You might not know but your father-in-law here was once known as the master of disguise".
" Pftt". He spurted trying to hold his laugh.
I looked at him with question mark written all over my face.
" So it's in the past tense? You are no longer one. Also, you are not my father-in-law,but my brother-in-law".
" You rascal, you don't get to choose. I'm whatever I call myself. You can give my sister back to me if you don't like it". I snorted.
" Done,we are good to go now. My base is 5km to the west".
" West? There's no way they you are gonna stay on top of buildings?". Max asked bewildered.
" You really talk too much".
" You are right, definitely".
" You too". He added.
" Wow, touche".
" I'll go first. I'll let you know when the coast is clear. Don't deviate by any degree from the safe path I lay for you". He warned sternly.
" Roger that". We both said simultaneously. And scoffed at the same time.
We both sat there aimlessly, playing games. At least,that was what it looked like to a passerby. Actually,we were waiting for Jade's signal and we were very alert. Set to be on the move at any time.
Beep beep beep beep
Max jumped and I almost laughed my a** out. It was so hilarious.
" That was too loud man".
" Because you didn't adjust the volume. Oh my, you are so stupid".
He gave me a deadly look before going ahead to adjust them.
Actually, for that operation,we were very nervous and scared out of our wits.
We were worried for my sister,but to cover up how scared we were,we resulted to useless banter and fights. Honestly,it helped more than I would love to admit.
Then we heard Jade's voice.
"Put on your glasses,turn on to the transparent mode. It'll make you look inconspicuous".
We did as told.
" Alright, good. I'll send you a file right now. It contains the safe route I drafted for you.
Follow it strictly. I'll also make sure to tell you any change in the enemy concentration.
The map includes the the number of people in each station and the safest way to bypass them.
If you haven't seen Xandra,try as much as possible to take them out without shooting.
Work as silently as possible so Xandra can remain safe. The moment you alert them when we haven't gained control of the building server, your sister/wife will be in great danger.
Your primary mission right now isn't to invade. It's to buy time as silently as possible while staying safe. I need about an hour to breach the server and gain control of everything.
Just stay safe till then,it would be added bonus if you found Xandra within that period".
" Noted".
And just like he said,a map was already sent to us.
It looked like we are just randomly touching our nerd glasses but we were actually trying to open the map and follow then safe route marked in.
The enemies are dotted in red,1 dot-1 person. The safe route is a blue line across the map.
It's a 3d map that doesn't need a scale. Where we were was two purple crosses. It moves with us and as such we can easily tell how close or far away the motherf**kers are.
We went in through the second door,the one customers use when they want to come pick up ordered goods. We blended in with the crowd and went in.
After,we entered the restroom and changed to cleaners clothes, Max removed the straps from his backpack and modified it into a handbag,the one cleaners usually use to pack their casual wears.
We then made our way towards the stairs. We might be discovered faster if we used the elevator, according to Jade.
We took the stairs all the way to the first floor. The warehouse was built in such a way that when you enter from outside, you directly enter into the sixth floor.
After getting to the first floor,we started to look for the way into the basement.
Jade was working on it but still haven't been able to crack the lock. Most locks are electronic. So it's easy for Jade to pick them even from long distance.
" Ok,got it. But there are three men beside the basement door. The door is Incorporated into the wall but follow the map.
Remember to be quiet. One of the men has the same fighting capability as the 'Nolan' but the other two are only slightly more than average.
Just push the wall there slightly until you find the right place, it'll spring open". Jade concluded.
" Why does that sound lame?". Max whispered.
" Are you sure that's the right place. How could they use just three guards? They really underestimate me". I added.
" That's because, the door is a 'S' level electronic lock,they wouldn't expect anyone to breach it,a pity they met me".
We indeed met three guards but they were weak,too weak. I felt embarrassed fighting them.
All it took was a kick to the elbow to knock them out. After which, Max gave them a dose each to make sure they won't wake up anytime soon.
We poked the wall behind them but there was nothing.
We started poking walls around all to no avail. For straight 10mins.
" I'm not sure there's anything here". Max said. He was a beam of sweat forming on his forehead.
" It should be somewhere here,he couldn't have made a mistake, could he?".
" You are both stupid. I said push, not poke. Did you lazy around during your school days that you don't even know the difference between push and poke?". Jade literally screamed into our ears.
I looked at Max and we both felt foolish.
After fumbling around for a while,we finally found the the right spot and the wall sprang open.
The basement door opened and we were shocked at what we saw. It was surprising, unbelievable,call it whatever. It also makes me want to break those men's rib,how could they?
